The 2017 Summer Reading Challenge: Building Dreams is a fun way to stay engaged in reading and learning throughout the summer. The program is free, and we have versions for all ages.

Sign up for Summer Reading. The program runs from May 22 - August 20, 2017 with activities, programs, & reading challenges at all three library locations: Old Town Library, Council Tree Library, and Harmony Library. The daily events schedule is available online at

Once you've finished your first 10 hours... keep reading! Reach milestone reading levels of 25, 50, 75, or 100 hours and help build a Building Dreams Community Tower of Pom-Poms at the libraries! Let's build to the sky! Ask staff for details.

Readers who reach 100+ hours of summer reading and babies and toddlers with 25+ hours of reading by August 20 will be invited to a special Power Readers' Club event at the end of the summer. All hours must be submitted by August 20 so event details can be emailed to Power Readers prior to the event.

STREAM On! (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Math)

Individuals who do one activity in each STREAM category from your reading log will be entered up to six times in the special drawing for prizes at the end of the summer. Activity suggestions are listed in the reading logs and in individual and family online summer accounts. STREAM stickers for your reading log will be available at the library; online users may record their activities in their summer reading accounts to receive online certificates.
