Math Learning Plan with Your Child's Name on It:)

Today, we're diving into the second part of what makes Mathnasium so effective. Maybe you live in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Moorpark, Santa Rosa Valley, and have seen our local Mathnasium center. Maybe you've just heard about us online. Maybe you know a family currently using Mathnasium. Maybe you know enough that you're ready to give us a call at 8057778403. So let's find out what all this "Mathnasium hype" is about, shall we?

Mathnasium is effective because of where it started. Larry Martinek, the creator of Mathnasium, has taught math to kids for a long time. Like 40+ years. He spent many of those years refining a method (The Mathnasium Method, to be precise) that blows the traditional sit-and-get math teaching out of the water. The Mathnasium Method begins with a comprehensive assessment. You can read all about that assessment here.

After the comprehensive assessment is finished and all the data collected from it, our Mathnasium Instructors work with a custom-made curriculum for your child. Yep. No two lesson plans are the same. We've never met two students who are exactly the same either. We have worked with twins and even triplets! Mathnasium of Thousand Oaks prides itself on taking the time to make a learning plan that is as individual as your child.

Perhaps your child has a great grasp of multiplication and division but lacks confidence in performing fraction operations. You can expect your child's personal math tutor to spend the necessary time on filling in the math gaps in fractions and not wasting time on content that your child already mastered. Our Mathnasium Instructors are experts in delivering math concepts in a way that makes sense from the Mathnasium lesson plan.  Education Update defines a good lesson plan as one that "gets students thinking and allows them to interact and ask questions, tap into their background knowledge, and build new skills."

One happy Mathnasium parent says this: "Mathnasium was a fantastic resource for our middle schooler. The Mathnasium curriculum was excellent and very well structured, and also offered a lot of feedback. I liked the progress checks and the extra time to help with assigned schoolwork. The teachers were smart, fun and motivational. Our middle schooler is finishing 8th grade with a very well-earned A+, and more importantly, a love of math!"

So what are the results that come from customized lesson plans? (We're soooo glad you asked)
