Middle School Summer Math Programs

Algebra Readiness: Pre-Algebra and Algebra students need to know a specific set of math skills so they are ready to build on this foundation. If there are gaps or weaknesses, students work extra hard to keep up, which can affect confidence and grades. We both review essential skills and preview Algebra concepts including expressions, linear equations, graphing, proportional thinking, and algebraic word problems.

Get Ready for Geometry: We review and preview key concepts to prepare for high school Geometry: classifying shapes and angles, transversals, congruence and similarity, surface area / volume, and conditional statements. We also like to introduce proofs, an often challenging part of most Geometry curricula.

SSAT and ISEE Math Prep: Standardized tests are part of the process of applying to many private schools in NWDC. Strong math scores on these tests show a readiness for advanced math and science classes. To boost math scores on the ISEE and SSAT, we work through proportional thinking, percents, rational numbers, fractional parts, and algebraic problem-solving.

When middle school students start math class this fall - either in a classroom or virtually - much will be new and unfamiliar. But math?? We got this!

Next step: Schedule your one-on-one math skills assessment today either via video-conference or in our Cathedral Heights center: (202) 991-2099.
