Welcome! We’re so happy to see you again! Welcome to your first Mathnasium @Home session!
The room you were just in is our Waiting Room. Not much happens there, but it is a quiet place to hang out before your session starts. Feel free to use that time to grab any paper and pencils you might want to use.
This room that you are in now is the Main Room. You’ll see Mathnasium Instructors and Directors, as well as other students in this room. This is where we make sure your audio and video are working so that you can have the best session possible. Make sure you have your headphones handy and the latest version of our video-conference platform downloaded on your computer.
Once we have made sure everything is working just fine, you can press the button that says “Join” and you will enter the room with your instructor! This is the exciting part!! Your Instructor will be with you throughout your entire session to teach you new techniques, work through problems together, and answer all your questions along the way.
Remember the assessment you recently completed? We used it to create a unique learning plan with your name on it! The Mathnasium material will be on the same program as the assessment and will open in your internet browser. You have the choice to write the answers using the pen tool or type them with the text tool. Both you and your instructor will be able to write on the page as you work through the material together.
You might notice that there are quite a few pages of the Mathnasium material to work through…. and you would be correct! There is a lot to learn but we will always go at your pace so don’t worry about learning everything today.
After your Instructor wraps up your session, all you have to do is close your internet browser. All your hard work is saved automatically so that during your next session, we can pick up where we left off.
