Feb 19, 2025 | Litchfield Park

Mathnasium of Litchfield Park & Goodyear is excited to announce its regional partnership with Girl Scouts of Troop 714 for National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend.

On Saturday, February 22, Mathnasium of Litchfield Park & Goodyear will host a special event to celebrate this partnership with a Girl Scout cookie booth outside the center from 10AM to 1PM. Families are invited to enjoy a variety of fun, interactive math activities while supporting local Girl Scout troops by purchasing cookies. This collaboration blends the beloved cookie tradition with Mathnasium’s mission to inspire a love of learning and help children develop their math skills in an engaging, hands-on environment.

This is the final cookie sales event of the season for Troop 714. So arrive early to claim your favorite box of cookies before they are gone! All Girl Scout Cookies will be available for purchase for $6; except S'mores and Toffee-tastic which are available for $7.

The event will feature a range of engaging activities designed to inspire fun and learning for the entire family:

  • Smart Cookie Challenge & Raffle: Kids can put their estimating skills to the test by guessing the number of cookies in the jar, with the chance to win a delicious prize.
  • Girl Scout-Themed Friendship Bracelets: Kids will get creative at the bracelet station, using number charms, Girl Scout-colored beads, and string to craft their own personalized designs.
  • Cookie-Themed Activity Sheets: Engaging, problem-solving activities tailored to Girl Scout age groups will encourage kids to think critically while sharpening their math skills.
  • Math Stations: Hands-on, interactive math stations will provide an exciting way for families to explore and strengthen their math skills in a fun, immersive setting.

“At Mathnasium, we’re always looking for exciting ways to make learning fun and impactful for kids,” said Libby Lossing, Owner of Mathnasium in Goodyear, Arizona. “Partnering with Girl Scouts of Troop 714 gives us the perfect opportunity to put a fun math twist on a beloved community tradition. With a Girl Scout cookie booth right outside our center, we’re inviting families to enjoy the excitement of cookie season while engaging in interactive, hands-on math activities.”

After the event, families can continue the fun at home with these math-inspired activities using Girl Scout cookies:

  • Cookie Counting & Sorting: Sort cookies by size, flavor, or color, and then practice math skills by adding, subtracting, or multiplying the number of cookies in each group.
  • Fraction Fun with Cookies: Use cookies to teach fractions by dividing them into halves, thirds, or quarters, allowing kids to share and learn how to combine fractions.
  • Cookie Pattern Play: Create patterns using different cookies. Challenge children to identify or complete patterns, promoting an understanding of sequences and symmetry.

The event will take place at Mathnasium of Litchfield Park & Goodyear on Saturday, February 22 at 10AM. The community is invited to stop by, enjoy fun math activities, and support their local Girl Scout troops.

Families can also take advantage of Mathnasium’s Free Diagnostic Assessment to enhance their child’s math skills.
