This year, instead of asking kids what they wanted for Christmas, I decided to ask them what they thought other kids would like for Christmas. After finding the idea from anotehr Mathnasium franchisee, I put together a display where kids could donate new toys to Toys for Tots. Sutdnets were encourages to purchse toys from the rewards cabinet with their own punch cards and put themin the stockings for someone else to find. It was hard for some kids because they had never thought of using thir hard-earned punch cards for someone else, but with help from parents,, many kids found the value in thinking of others. There were so many toys donated, that I had a hard time carrying them through the mall to the donation center. In the end, it was worth it to teach kids that Christmas is just as muc habout giving as it is about receiving.
