Here at Mathnasium, Pi day (March 14th) is our favorite math holiday! We want to celebrate the amazing symbol of pi because it is so important in math and also our everyday lives.
Pi (π) is a fundamental constant in mathematics. It represents the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, and it is used in very important mathematical concepts such as finding the distance around a circle (circumference), the area inside of a circle, the volume of a sphere, and so many more. Everywhere around us, there exists circles, tubes, cones, balls, and so much more that all relate to the constant pi.
Pi is so important to the mathematical, physical, and engineering world. It is such a distinct symbol that represents innovation and advancements in science and technology.
