No COVID Slide Here -- Let's RISE in math

Apr 28, 2020 | Palmetto Bay

Especially after this challenging spring, we want our Miami students walking into math class this fall confident and prepared... not just "getting by," but thriving and excelling!

The NWEA released projections suggesting major academic impacts from COVID closures for students.  (In part: "Especially in mathematics, students are likely to show much smaller learning gains, returning with less than 50% of the learning gains and in some grades, nearly a full year behind what we would observe in normal conditions.")

Separately, a school superintendent told NPR: "This situation is going to be like what is often called the summer slide, but on steroids.”

We will continue to do whatever it takes to teach and advance our students during and after this school interruption, both via video-conference and back in our center this summer.

Through our individualized instruction, dynamic learning plans, and engaging Instructors, our Miami students typically rise one grade level in math every 6 months.  We need to start NOW to prepare for August!
