Summer Math Programs for Elementary School
Numerical Fluency: the long-term cure for finger counting. Students master effective techniques for basic addition and subtraction facts: ten basic prerequisites, then sequential scaffolding using problem-solving, thinking in groups, and visual/tactile activities.
Multiplication Fact Fluency: with a focus on mathematical thinking skills, we teach scalable strategies that go above and beyond memorizing multiplication tables. How? Skip counting, commutativity, and launching points.
Fraction Skills: we teach key fraction concepts through visual representation and manipulatives. We cover naming and drawing fractions, improper fractions, mixed numbers, wholes and parts, comparing / ordering fractions, and computation with fractions.
Word Problems: our Problem Solving program teaches for mastery of this essential skill. We cover techniques related to basic computation, proportional reasoning, and algebraic problem-solving.
