Middle School Summer Math Programs
Algebra Prep: In our Algebra Prep Summer Program, students master key concepts in preparation for Algebra I. Key skills include expressions, linear equations, graphing, proportional thinking, and algebraic word problems.
Geometry Readiness: During our Geometry Readiness Summer Program, students work through key concepts in preparation for high school Geometry. Essential concepts include classifying shapes and angles, transversals, congruence and similarity, surface area / volume, conditional statements, an introduction to proofs, and more.
ISEE and SSAT Test Prep: Standardized tests are part of the process of applying to private schools in the Palmetto Bay and Pinecrest area. Strong math scores on these tests demonstrate a readiness for a challenging math and science curriculum. To boost math scores on the ISEE and SSAT, we focus on proportional thinking, percents, rational numbers, fractional parts, and algebraic problem-solving.
When middle school students start math class this fall, there are certain math skills they should have. Students who have mastered these skills are ready to build on their solid foundation. Students with gaps or a weak understanding have to work extra hard to keep up and confidence flags.
