Q: What helps students in your center stay motivated?
A: Rewards help a lot of students. Getting better grades and feeling less intimidated and confused in class helps all of our students.
Q: Tell us about the reward cabinet!
A: We have small things from mystery bags and candy to electronics like a Nintendo switch. Lots of different items - from Squishmallows to Nerf guns, various tech items like speakers and headphones and earbuds to fidget items that would satisfy the most fidgety kid! We also offer gift cards to wherever our students like to shop.
Q: How do students earn prizes from the reward cabinet?
A: By doing math! Students earn 1 punch on our punch cards for every page of math completed. Double punches for perfect pages and lots of center wide incentives where everyone gets extra punches.
Q: How does your center celebrate student success?
A: We celebrate student success with our Brag Board - they can brag about anything they are proud of. We also give Nerd Awards for A's on math tests, and we recognize and award Mathlete of the Month and a No-Error Club winner each month.
Q: What is your favorite student success story?
A: We had a student who started with us in elementary school and was a couple of years behind grade level. She was able to catch up and actually skip a high school math class and is now applying to multiple Ivy League schools.
