Where Does Your Child Go To Practice Math

Nov 6, 2016 | Parker

The kitchen table? Why? Is that really the best spot to learn and focus on complex ideas?

Think about it. People go to art studios, swimming pools, dance studios, libraries, dojos, gyms, and all kinds of places to practice different activities. Each place sets up the atmosphere and tools to help people accomplish specific tasks. People do research in libraries because they have books, computers, and librarians. Dancers practice in dance studios because they have mirrors, barres, wide open floor space, and a sound system. Students do math at the kitchen table because … um, wait, we aren’t sure why they would do math at the kitchen table!

Can people dance in a library? Sure, but they will probably miss the music and they might get bruised knocking into the bookshelves. Can people do research in a dance studio? Well, yes, but if you need information about dinosaurs the dance teacher probably won’t help you find the best resources. Can kids do math at the kitchen table? Kind of, but maybe Mom or Dad don't know the way math is being taught now and they definitely won’t have instructors and a focused atmosphere there.

So Where Should Children Go to Practice Math?
Mathnasium of Parker is the perfect place to go. We have a focused, fun atmosphere with teachers who are really knowledgeable & enthusiastic about math. Our walls have fun and inspirational math sayings. Our tables and shelves have all the tools children need to focus on building their math brain. We know that math brains come from dedication to the pursuit of math excellence. Children don’t excel in math (or reading, or dance, or karate, or anything) by accident. It takes focus and work. 90% of our students report an increase in math confidence and skills. Can your kitchen table make the same claim? If not, get your children to the place where all we do is math, Mathnasium of Parker. We Make Math Make Sense.
