Why Should we Care About Pi (Ï€)?

Jul 22, 2020 | Round Rock East

Pi appears everywhere there’s a circle, such as the disk of the sun, planets, and earth. It’s in the physics that describes waves, such as ripples of light and sound—which means pi is a part of how we see and hear. Pi even appears in the spiral of the DNA double helix.

Why should we care about pi? Because we are all made of pi! Here at Mathnasium, we help children understand math, but we also want them to learn about why math is fun and important. Our goal is to make math fun and accessible to kids, and to help them understand why math is important for more than just schoolwork and grades.
