It's not uncommon for children to struggle with learning math. However, an understanding of math is an important part of a child’s success in school and beyond. As a parent, you want the best for your child and setting them up for success early on is one of the most beneficial things you can do for them. If your child needs help with math, Mathnasium will help get them back on the right track.
For more than a decade, the Mathnasium Method™ has transformed the way kids understand and appreciate math. Larry Martinek, creator of the Mathnasium Method, has spent 40+ years designing, developing, and refining this approach based on his extensive experience teaching math to kids. We build math knowledge upon what they already know—this helps kids learn and starts boosting confidence right away.
Mathnasium uses a diagnostic test to determine what math concepts need to be addressed with each child. Once the trouble spots are determined, the math tutors take an individualized approach to addressing these areas of concern. Students are continuously monitored to ensure that they are making improvements and mastering the materials. For these reasons, all instruction takes place during the Mathnasium session at our center. In addition, Mathnasium continues giving regular assessments to its students to ensure progress and that each child retains the skills they have learned. Ultimately, Mathnasium wants to see all of their students succeed by making math fun and easier to comprehend.
The Mathnasium Method™ works to develop number sense and verbal reasoning through oral questioning and a combination of mental, verbal, visual, tactile and written techniques. No matter what your child’s learning style, the Mathnasium Method™ will make a significant impact on the way they learn and understand math, adapting to what works best for them.
"Children don’t hate math. What they hate is being confused, intimidated, and embarrassed by math. With understanding comes passion, and with passion comes growth—a treasure is unlocked.” —Larry Martinek
