  4. Do we need any other equipment?
No other equipment is needed. However, some students prefer adding the following tools:
         * Headphone, Mic and Webcam - In order to reduce distraction, we recommend students using any basic or noise cancelling headphone with mic. Webcam, if not built in, is recommended. These will help them to interact with instructors in a holistic manner while working on math problems.
         * Digital Draw Board - Only for non touchscreen laptops/ desktops, we recommend using WACOM board (PTH-651, PTH-660) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-ZYte_UOVM) or Optical Pen Mouse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbXH5FgYD84) for non-touch screen systems. Widely available in many stores like Staples, BestBuy, Amazon, others, these are USB based gadgets, that can help students to write on the screen like with pen on paper.

  5. Do students work the same curriculum in Mathnasium@home as they would at our center?
Yes, students will work on same Prescriptives (PKs), Workout Books and Focus-on's they are used to in the center, but from the comfort of home. They will work with instructors in real time in the same way they work at our center.

  6. How will students get help with Homework and Test Preparations?
We will provide a shared folder where parents/ students can upload either a scanned copy or a picture of their school materials. We will upload those materials into the platform for use during the session, similar to how they would work at our center.

  7. How will students get instructors attention when needed while working online via Mathnasium@Home?
Instructors will constantly be checking each student similar to how they do in center. Online, when a student wants to ask a question or is done with a page, there are multiple ways to get the instructors' assistance. They can raise their hand with the hand icon inside the application or students can type comments or questions in the chat feature. This will immediately notify the instructor(s) who can reply with the same chat feature or with the microphone, as the student and instructors are connected via head phones and a camera for verbal discussions and to answer the student’s question.

  8. Can students utilize Mathnasium@home along with in-center learning?
During the current COVID 19 situation, students who are not able to attend in-center will use Mathnasium@home. When they are ready to return to the center they can.
Beyond that, we will recommend Mathnasium@home for any family where students will be facing an absense of 2 or more weeks due to travel or other circumstances. The goal is to allow the student to continue their Mathnasium instruction.

  9. Do students need a separate email address to access Mathnasium@home?
No, parents can use their Gmail account login ID for their student(s) to access Mathnasium@home. If they do not have Gmail, parents can create a Mathnasium@home login ID with their own non Gmail email address.

  10. Can parents use a single email address for siblings?
Yes, when siblings are not attending class simultaneously, the login can be the same. Student 1 should exit the session and logout using the menu below their name. Then student 2 would log in to their session. However, if sibling sessions are scheduled at the same time, each session requires a unique email address to log in.
