Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Suchita Desai | Mathnasium of Mesa South

Suchita Desai, Owner/Director Mesa South and Gilbert

Suchita strongly believes that a solid foundation in math is vital for today's children to succeed. She holds two Master’s degrees in Cell/Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. After a several years of research work, she decided to shift her focus to giving back to the community in a different way. She came across Mathnasium and fell in love with the program and what it has to offer students across all grades. She has always loved and excelled in math and now, through the Mathnasium method, enjoys helping kids learn to overcome their fear and love math. She currently resides in the Valley with her family and two wonderful kids. Suchita and the Mathnasium of Mesa South team are thrilled to bring their passion to Mathnasium, helping children succeed in math in a way that makes sense to them! 

Favorite Math Joke: 3 out of 2 people have trouble with fractions.


Jessica | Assistant Center Director | Mathnasium of Mesa South

Jessica, Assistant Center Director

Jessica is currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry from ASU. Prior to working at Mathnasium, she worked as an Instructional Assistant for a middle school math and science classes. She also worked as a long-term substitute for Biology and Chemistry high school class. She love working one on one with students and being able to witness the "Ah-ha" moment when difficult concepts makes sense. She has a small family, her parents and an older brother, but plenty of pets. 

Favorite Math Joke: Parallel lines have so much in common... it's a shame they'll never meet.

Fun Facts: All together Jessica and her family has 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits, 2 snakes and 1 Betta fish named Phillip. She spends her free time constructing cosplay and props from her favorite movies and video games.


Kyle, Instructor

Kyle is currently attending Mesa Community College. He has always loved Math even though he wasn't best at it in his early years of school. He loves helping other students and continues to help many every year with their math homework. He is excited when he sees students face light up when they get the right answer and understand how they got it. Kyle's family is always asking him ti help them with any little Math question and he loves helping them.

Favorite Math Joke: √-1 2^3 ∑pi

Fun Facts: I am second oldest of my siblings. I was in marching band for 4 years. I can solve a Rubik's cube.


Maali | Instructor | Mathnasium of Mesa SouthMaali, Instructor 

Maali is currently a business major student at Grand Canyon University. Alongside being a student, she has been a math tutor since high school. She is passionate about being an instructor at Mathnasium because it's an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students while teaching something she loves! While math is awesome, one of my biggest passions is art and photography which I do in my spare time. 

Favorite Math Joke: Why do plants hate math? Because it gives them square roots.

Fun Facts: I was born in Mesa, Arizona but have lived in Puerto Rico, Florida and Colorado. I love anything chocolate, but dislike everything nutty. I have 2 dogs, a pug and a chug, and I wish I could have more.


Nino | Math Instructor | Mathnasium of Mesa SouthNino, Instructor

Nino is currently a student at Mesa Community College and has taken courses in Algebra and Calculus. He has tutored for 2 years in high school in Illinois and is currently an assistant teaching math at Roosevelt Elementary. He hates seeing kids frustrated and lost when it comes to any subject, especially math. He used to struggle with math until he had a very awesome tutor help him for a summer and it made him a head of his class by one year. He wishes to do the same for other kids so they aren't dreadful over doing math. 

Favorite Math Joke:  What do you get if you divide the circumference of a jack-o-lantern by its diameter? A pumpkin pi 

Fun Facts: I have a amazing little brother who will be attending elementary school soon! I play guitar and have played baseball for 8 years. 


Camryn | Math Instructor | Mathnasium of Mesa South

Camryn, Instructor

Camryn is pursuing a degree in English Linguistics at Arizona State University. Having previously worked as a speech and debate coach, she loves helping and mentoring kids. Camryn’s combined proficiency in English and Math allows her to connect with students in diverse ways that best suit their individual needs. This is why she is devoted to Mathnasium and their personalized programs, which provide a variety of methods to uniquely aid students. Camryn is excited to help kids gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel in the beautiful subject of math! 

Favorite Math Joke: Why does algebra make you a better dancer? Because it gives you algo-rhythm! 

Fun Facts: Camryn is a freelance artist who loves animation and cartoons! She also sings, writes, acts, and has performed in several musicals and plays. 


Derek | Math Instructor | Mathnasium of Mesa South

Derek, Instructor

Derek is currently a senior at Desert Ridge High School taking calculus and engineering/design courses. He has always been good at understanding math and loves seeing kids be able to understand it as well. He loves the unique way that Mathnasium teaches, and it has even helped him develop better number sense. He is the oldest of 3, with a younger brother and a sister. He has 2 dogs, named Ollie and Taz. Heplays center snare on the drumline at his school

Favorite Math Joke: Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 ate 9. Why did 7 eat 9? Because you need 3 squared meals a day.

Fun Facts: I love working with electronics, and building robots and circuits in my spare time. I can solve a Rubik’s cube.
