Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

 Mike Convenuto, Center Director

Mike is the owner of Mathnasium of Metairie. He was born and raised in Metairie. He has been a business owner for the past twenty-four years. Mike's daughter struggled with math in school and attended Mathnasium. Mathnasium changed her outlook on math. Mike believes that a good education allows students to achieve their maximum potential in life, and since Mathnasium allows for kids to learn math in a unique and fun way, it’s a perfect match! Mike has two daughters Olivia and McKinley Grace.

 Sarah Schott, Lead Instructor

Sarah is the lead instructor at Mathnasium of Metairie. She graduated from LSU with a BS in mathematics and a secondary education certification. Upon graduation, she worked at Mount Carmel Academy for three years, teaching algebra, pre-calculus, and geometry. Her favorite part about teaching is tutoring kids in small groups, because she likes getting to know her students on a personal level. She loves Mathnasium because the program encourages kids to think intuitively rather than use rote memorization to solve problems. When she's not doing math, Sarah can be found reading, hiking, or hanging out with her tabby cat, Pam.
