Amar Tailor, Owner
Amar is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Middletown, Delaware. Prior to opening his Mathnasium center, Amar and his family were primarily involved in hospitality and commercial real estate. After graduating from the University of Delaware's Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management Program, Amar spent 11 years as General Manager of his family' hotel, increasing the revenue to its highest level in the 25 years the hotel was owned by his family. In 2003, Amar and his family purchased a retail liquor store in a growing area. Amar enjoyed learning about new wines and craft beers, but after 10 years of running that business felt that it was time for a change. Living in the fastest growing area in the state, Amar knew that the next business would have to be located in Middletown. He also had a strong desire to be part of the community that he lived in and wanted to open a business that would provide a much needed service to the families of Middletown. Amar also served as the founding chairman of the Hospitality Alumni Association for many years, and during that time realized the feeling of fullfillment he got when he was able to share his experiences with students. Having struggled with math as a child, Amar is enthusiastic about helping every child in the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. Married with 2 sons, Amar also volunteers as a Den Leader for his son' Cub Scout Pack.

"Children don't hate math. What they hate is being confused, intimidated, and embarrassed by math. With understanding comes passion, and with passion comes growth--a treasure is unlocked."
