A Continuing Math Education

Oct 30, 2020 | Mira Mesa & Scripps Ranch

This academic year schools in our community and across the country are faced with the challenge of adapting to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In-person classrooms have shifted to the virtual space as teachers and students transition to an online instructional model. While the way in which teachers instruct and students learn has changed, one thing has not: the significance of a continuing mathematics education.

A strong mathematics education, supported by math programs, math tutors, and learning centers, lays the foundation for your child’s success across all other subjects in school. The mathematics work they perform nurtures qualities and skills such as critical thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, creativity, and an improved understanding of the world around them.

Each summer when students go on break they lose some of the academic skills and knowledge they gained throughout the year. Students can experience this academic loss any time they go on extended breaks from their schooling. Given the extended breaks they enjoy during spring, summer, and winter, it is crucial they continue their mathematics education during all other times of the academic year so they retain a strong mathematics foundation.

By continuing their Mathnasium programs throughout the adjusted San Diego Unified School District academic schedule, together we’ll ensure your child maintains their mathematics skills and continues to succeed.
