This weekend is going to be a hot one and many famileis are preparing for a fun-filled Labor Day weekend!
For many students, school has already started and homework assignments are in full swing. School has only been in session for a week and after the holiday weekend, most teachers have scheduled the first quiz or test of the new school year!
So what can this mean for you and your student?
When the first test or quiz of a new academic year is graded, the grade received is the grade that will be used for the overall class grade.
Well how will that shape the rest of the quarter or semester?
Lets say your student has been working hard to study and they score well, the rest of the quarter or semester will be easier since it will be a matter of maintaining this good grade. However, if your student was not confident or prepared and didn't score well, the rest of the quarter or semester will be focused on trying to play catch up which can be very overwhelming and stressful!
