The countdown for the new school year has changed from months, to weeks, to just a few days! Summer vacation has flown by and many kids are getting their school supplies ready for their new grade level.
Many parents want to wait to enroll until they can see how their kid does on their own and though this is a confident choice, it might not be the best choice for most kids and we are here to explain why!
Mathnasium offers grade-level assessments to test how much of the previous school year your child has retained to use as foundational knowledge for the new school year. These assessments can take anywhere between 1 - 3 hours depending on the grade level your child is going into as higher grades require more time to work through the rigorous curriculum.
Once your child completes their assessment, we process them and put them into the system to have their custom learning plan generated. The custom learning plan only lists skills your child does not 100% retain so we can focus on building these skills back up to prepare them for the fall!
Learning Plans generally consist of about 20 - 40 concepts with students needing about a month to complete 4 concepts. The skills require practice and repetition over time to gain mastery so the sooner a student can begin working through their customized learning plan, the faster they will progress and catch up or get ahead!
