Virtual or In-Person Tutoring?

Feb 19, 2021 | Mira Mesa & Scripps Ranch

With some schools returning back on campus and some staying on a remote learning platform; many families are unsure what the best choice is for them and their students.

We introduced the Mathnasium@Home virtual platform in 2020 once the mandatory stay-at-home order went into effect. Our mission remained to support the families in the Mira Mesa and Scripps Ranch community from the comfort and safety of our homes.

Mathnasium@Home provides a 1:1 virtual experience that is similar to face-to-face instruction since we are able to use video to see one another, audio to hear one another, and a chat box to type any questions or provide feedback!

We have been open for in-person tutoring for the last 8 month and due to all of our sanitization, social distancing, and safety protocols; our in-center students are learning math in a low-risk environment!

To highlight some of the protocols we are using:

  • Masks are worn by students, staff, and guardians before they enter the center.
  • Temperatures are taken immediately upon entering the center
  • Hands must be washed or sanitized before sitting down for a session or meeting.
  • Plexiglass is set up between all staff, students, and guardians.
  • We are on flexible scheduling so we know how many people will be in the center per day, week, and month to ensure social distancing.
  • Frequently touched surfaces are sanitized hourly throughout the day such as desks, chairs, binders, pencils, lightswitches, door handles, etc
