Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Marzena

Center Director
Marzena is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Monterey. Prior to opening the Mathnasium center, Marzena worked as an Operations Director in San Jose, specializing in performing arts centers and real estate property management. Having a strong passion for math, Marzena is enthusiastic about helping every child in the Monterey community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. She has taught and tutored children (including her own grandkids), and she is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the community

Kevin

Math Instructor
Kevin is a Sonar Technician in the United States Navy. He is currently finishing his Bachelor’s in Mathematics and will start his Master’s in Data Analytics in August 2023. He enjoys playing chess and powerlifting in his spare time. Kevin believes math will always be his constant in an ever developing world.

Marwa

Math Instructor
Marwa is a sophomore at Marina High School. She loves to spend her free time playing video games and reading. She loves math because of how connected everything is and how it can feel like a fun puzzle game sometimes. Other topics that Marwa is interested in include psychology and history

Tobias

Math Instructor
Toby is a sophomore at Carmel High School. For as long as he can remember Toby has loved math and tried to analyze the world in a mathematical way. During his free time Toby plays soccer and tennis and enjoys spending his time with his friends and family. He has also competed in several math competitions in the area.

Jack

Math Instructor
Jack is a freshman college student at Monterey Peninsula College. He enjoys math and loves helping people learn. He likes math competitions and recently won the ASMA contest locally.

Miguel

Instructor
Miguel is a Senior college student in California State University, Monterey Bay. He is currently studying Computer Science with a concentration in Game Development. He has a teaching experience at CSUMB as a Teacher's Assistant for their Software Development class. Miguel always finds Mathematics very fun in a challenging way.

Cian

Math Instructor
Cian is a graduate from U.C. Davis. Cian has a passion for tutoring math, and have been previously tutoring at the Dublin Library in Dublin CA. In his free time he likes playing badminton and reading scifi/fantasy books.

Eunwoo

Math Instructor
Eunwoo is a senior at Monterey High School under the MAOS program. Often solving math problems for everyday life, math class, and in engineering, his passions lie in scientific exploration of the environment. He hopes to be the best instructor at Mathnasium!

Daniel

Math Instructor
Daniel is a graduate from UC Santa Cruz. He enjoys programming, working out, and reading classic literature. Daniel loves finding how math relates to the world.

Sophia

Math Instructor
Sophia goes to Pacific Grove High School. When they aren't doing math, they enjoy playing the flute and reading. They also like to walk their dog, Brownie, at the beach.

Normandy

Math Instructor
Normandy is a senior at York School, and captain of the school's robotics team. She enjoys learning how the world works through mathematics and physics. In her free time, she paints and knits.

Emily

Math Instructor
Emily is a senior at Pacific Grove High School. She has always had a passion for academics and enjoys learning new things. She likes how math challenges her to expand her mind to think about things differently and can build on itself to lend understanding to further concepts. She also likes being able to help others expand their knowledge and understanding. In her free time, she enjoys reading and writing.

Brennan

Instructor
Brennan is a CSUMB graduate with a bachelor’s degree in math. Starting Summer 2024, he will be pursuing a secondary education teaching credential and masters degree in education. Besides math, he loves birdwatching, board games, and programming.
