Position Overview: 

The ideal candidate will be a bright and ambitious professional with excellent interpersonal skills. Candidates will possess curriculum knowledge to provide effective and concise math instruction to students of all ages, while using the Mathnasium Method.   Instructors must have the ability teach students in grades 1 through 12, and must be fluent with math including elementary and middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and, ideally, calculus and statistics. Candidates must be available to work consistently on a weekly basis. Instructors must also be able to contribute to the creation of an engaging and productive learning environment.  Participate in positive interactions with parents and establish a high level of confidence and program value. The Math Instructor is also responsible for assisting in the evaluation and tracking the progress of each student.  Instructors will also maintain and foster effective communication with the Center Director and other management staff.


  • A degree in math or a related field (e.g. Physics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, etc.)

  • Excellent academic credentials (official transcript must be provided) and an obvious passion for mathematics

  • Excellent communication skills, with a sense of humor and an upbeat demeanor

  • An open mind readily able to learn new teaching methods

  • Ability to work well with students of all ages

  • Availability a minimum of two days per week, between the hours of 2:30pm-7:30pm (Mon-Thurs) and 10am-1pm (Sat).


  • Instructing 2nd through 12th grade students, guiding and checking work, and fostering success

  • Bringing math to life for students at a variety of mathematics skill levels

  • Explaining and illustrating math topics using a variety of strategies and techniques

  • Assisting center director to maintain a clean, organized and productive learning environment
