CenterDirectorChaitanya Patel, Center Director

Chaitanya Patel is an instructor at Mathnasium of Newark-Union City. He has degree in Accounts major. He also has interest in computers and is certified programmer from Oracle Corporation. He is good with kids and loves to teach them and train them. He has 2 kids and that is what changed his focus from business to Education. He is passionate about educating leaders of tomorrow. He loves sports and is enthusiastic and energetic. He loves the way Mathnasium designs syllabus for each kid individually and that motivated him to run a center. 




CenterDirectorDevang, Instructor

Devang recently graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. He has always had a passion for mathematics and its related fields of physics and computer science. He has much experience working with kids. He worked at a summer camp in high school, assisting children with various recreational activities. Outside of his academic interests, Devang enjoys playing chess, listening to music, and playing soccer. Devang plans to apply his mathematics and computer skills to become a computer programmer. He believes having skill in mathematics is of utmost importance in today's society and is fully committed to teaching students at Mathnasium to enjoy using their newfound skills.

CenterDirectorIfrah, Instructor

frah is a senior at American High School and she plans on attending California Northstate University in the Summer of 2018. She plans on pursuing a career in medicine and dreams of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Her favorite subject in school is Anatomy and Physiology and she has always held a passion for biology. Nevertheless, she has always had a great liking for math and has earned solid A’s in her Hrs. Geometry, Hrs. Algebra II/Trig., Hrs. Pre-Calculus, and Calculus AB class. 


As for her extracurricular activities, Ifrah has volunteered at the Veterans Affairs in Palo Alto, has peer tutored at Thornton Jr. High for 3 years, and works as a Teacher’s Assistant at the Sunday School at her local mosque. She has had much exposure of working with elementary as well as middle school students and enjoys passing on her what she has learned over the years. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, running, and spending time with family.




CenterDirectorNicholas, Instructor

Nicholas is currently a Senior in high school and has a passion for mathematics. He plans on going to university to major in Pure Mathematics and pursue a PhD. Nicholas' aspiration in math motivates him to take concurrent enrollment at his local community college. He plans on completing the math branch of the community college, consisting of Multivariable Calculus, Elementary Differential Equations, and Elementary Linear Algebra by his senior year. Attending Mathnasium as an instructor gives Nicholas the opportunity to demonstrate his conceptual understanding to a younger demographic. This is like an internship for him to prepare him for the future.




CenterDirectorThomas, Instructor

Thomas is currently enrolled at California State University, East Bay as a business administration major. He has always enjoyed math classes during his academic career and the problem solving aspect to it. He has been working at the Mathnasium and hopes to make math more understandable and enjoyable for students.

During his free time, Thomas likes to participate in community service events to help others in Oakland and Hayward.

CenterDirectorAnish, Instructor

Anish is currently a senior at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont. He is planning to attend the University of Chicago, and he wants to pursue a degree in economics. Afterwards, he wants to pursue an MBA with a concentration in finance.

Anish is very academically motivated, especially in the subject of math. He takes the most rigorous math courses, and he also enjoys subjects such as physics and computer science.
Anish is very passionate about trading/investing. He manages one of his dad's accounts, and he even made an appearance of the Tastytrade financial network. Anish also participates in an entrepreneurship competition.
Outside of school, Anish participates in many activities. He teaches Punjabi Bhangra dance to younger kids and he was a basketball coach for a while as well. He is actively engaged in a Bay Area options trading group, and he teaches his fellow students about finance through his school's business club.

  • Anish can't resist Indian sweets (his favorites are jalebi and kaju barfi)
  • He speaks four languages

CenterDirectorYashvi, Instructor

Yashvi recently graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Although she has majored in science, she has always enjoyed math and the problem solving aspect to it. She has worked with children for many years. She first started volunteering with children during high school for non-profit organizations. In college she continued to work with children through various opportunities that came her way, specifically focused on teaching children. She looks forward to working at Mathnasium and hopes to make Math enjoyable for the students.
