Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Samir Bansikar,  Owner/Center Director 

 

 

Miguel Morales, Assistant Center Director 

 

Miguel Morales is the Assistant Center Director at Mathnasium of New Caney.  Miguel is originally from Orlando, Florida and is new to the New Caney area. Math has always been a significant part of Miguel's life, and he is looking forward to using that to help him, his students, and his team realize their full potential!  He is very excited for this opportunity and is looking forward to working with the community.

 

 

 

 

Natali Granados, Instructor

 

Natali is a freshman Computer Engineer Undergrad at the University of Houston. She loves math and science and wants to help others gain a similar love for it. During her free time, she likes to spend time playing games with her family and friends. 

 

 

 

 

Camila Maia, Instructor 

Camila is a graduate from Texas A&M University and is currently working toward obtaining her teaching certificatation. She wants to teach high school social studies and Mathematics. Throughout her life, Camila has always loved teaching and learning, which is why she loves to work as an instructor and wants to become a teacher. 

In her free time, Camila loves to read books, watch movies/TV, and psend time with friends and family.

 

What is your favorite number and why? "17 - because it is my birthday and my graduating year. It is also both an odd and prime number."

What is your favorite Math joke? "Why is 6 afraid of 7? Because 7, 8, 9!"

What are some of your hobbies? "Reading, watching Movies/TV, and crocheting."

 

 

 

 

Pamela Carias, Instructor 

Math has been Pamela's favorite subject for as long as she can remember. She loves how Math can always be proven right or wrong in a very solid and consistent manner. She enjoys helping to build understanding of Math to both and children and adults. She is very inquisitive herself, preferring the student role just as much to the teacher role. She enjoys reading books that help her to grow as an individual and to help add tools to her mental toolkit; she hopes to pass along some of these same feelings to others. 

 

What is your favorite number and why? "22 - because it was my soccer number since high school."

What is your favorite Math joke? 

"How some people see math problems: 

Q: If you have 4 pencils and I have 7 apples, how many pancakes will fit on the roof?

A: Purple, because aliens don't wear hats!"

What are some of your hobbies? "Playing the guitar, traveling, cooking, tabletop games, and listening to podcasts."

               

                                          

 

 

Stephanie Alvarado, Instructor 

Stephanie is a student at Brown University where she studies Computer Science and Education Studies. She has agreat appreciation for numbers and all they are capable of teaching us about the world we live in. She believes there is power in having confidence in your math skills, which is why she puts energy into showing her knowledge with the folks around her. Her dream job is to become a product manager with a very technical and hands-on approach. 

 

What is your favorite number and why? "My favorite number is 3 because it is lucky, prime, and in the fibonacci sequence!"

What is your favorite Math joke? 

"Why was 6 afraid of 7?

Be cause 7,8,9! Ha!" (This one is popular amongst our staff!)

What are some of your hobbies? "I love roller skating and playing the tuba in my free time."

 

 

Micaela Gumban, Instructor 

Micaela is a Junior at Porter High School. Growing up, she's always said Math was her favorite subject, and still is to this day. In fact, her love of math continues to grow with each year! Micaela herself attended Mathnasium for over 6 years and she considers us the main reason why she loves to continuously learn amth to this day. She is interested in studying international business while in college, so she spends much of her time studying and teaching to prepare herself for college and beyond!!

 

What is your favorite number and why? "8! In my home country, it is considered a 'good luck' number, so any time I have a chance to pick a number, it is always 8!"

What is your favorite Math joke? 

"Why was 6 afraid of 7?

Be cause 7,8,9!" (This one is popular amongst our staff!)

What are some of your hobbies? "I have been playing the Violin for about 7 years and I'm currently in the Varisty Orchestra at my high school. I also love to travel! Every year, my family and I go visit a new country!"

 

 

 

Anna Kreutzberg, Instructor 

 Anna was a teacher in secondary school five years ago. She taught english to Vietnamese students before coming to America and continuing to follow her dream career by going back to school. She has a great passion for teaching and Mathnasium is a perfect place for her to keep her flame going and growing!

 

 

What is your favorite number and why? "9 is my favorite number! No matter the scale of the number, from 10 to 1,000,000,000,000,000,..... it is the highest Integer before the next sequence."

What are some of your hobbies? "Challengin Math problems such as finite math exercises keep my brain fresh and active, and also encourage me to learn more!"
