Mysti Mayse, Center Director

Hello, my name is Mysti Mayse. I've spend the past 4 years teaching junior high and high school students in a variety of subjects. Most recently, I spent 2 years teaching middle school math in Colorado. Math has not always been my favorite subject, but I've always excelled at it (including scoring a 34 on the ACT math section!) and I am growing to love it more every day. In February 2021, I married Garret. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis, beating my family at board games, attending church events, and spoiling my nieces and nephews.

Aaron Preuss, Assistant Center Director

Aaron has been working in supplementary math education for over 6 years. His parents tell him that he has wanted to work in the field of mathematics since he was in fifth grade; it has always been his passion. He first began tutoring others in 2013 as a tutor at Johnson County Community College. Near the tail end of 2018, he found a home at the Mathnasium of South Blue Valley, where he has thoroughly enjoyed working with students to bolster their understanding and confidence working with numbers.

Beth Hoff, Lead Instructor

Beth is a life long educator.  She has completed 50 years as a teacher.  Her undergraduate degree was earned at UMKC as well as her first master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with emphasis in math.  For most of her career Beth taught in the public schools including NKC school district, Hickman Mills, Fort Osage and Blue Valley.

After teaching 7th grade math for 18 years at Overland Trail Middle School, Beth started teaching in alternative school environments including KVC Academy, Marillac and Ozanam.  She has taught many levels of math at these programs from students at a 1st grade level to students in Algebra I and Geometry.  As a result of going to alternative programs, she was required to obtain a master’s degree in Special Education.  This degree was earned at Pittsburg State University.

While serving in her professional career, Beth was honored to be a presenter with the Teacher-2-Teacher program and was the Greenbush secondary representative to the Kansas Teacher of the Year program in 2017.

Math has always been Beth’s favorite subject to teach.  She is enjoying the methods of teaching math at Mathnasium and looking forward to helping the students.  This will give her the opportunity to continue her passion of teaching and working with the future of our country.

In her free time, Beth enjoys volunteering at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, making plastic canvas projects, singing in her church choir and doing things with her family and friends.
