Jesse Yap, Owner/Center Director
Jesse received her BA in Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma in 1990. After a long and successful career as a business analyst, Jesse wanted to return to her first love—working with children and helping them become successful. Jesse is a mother of two and has a deep appreciation for education, particularly in the field of mathematics. She is especially passionate about increasing children's self-confidence and loves those "Ah-ha" moments when a child gets it! Jesse now devotes her time to helping kids and adults not only understand math, but learn to LOVE math.
Sharnell Johnson, Center Director
Sharnell is a Los Angeles native who is currently pursuing her degree in Mathematics at Langston University. She has always had a passion for and enjoys teaching and working with students, as she has worked for Upward Bound at Langston University as an Office and Teacher’s Assistant for 4 years and as a Supplemental Instructor at Langston University for Intermediate and College Algebra. Sharnell gets a thrill out of seeing students begin to understand, like and hopefully eventually love math with her assistance. Outside of school and Mathansium, Sharnell enjoys Facetime calls to her younger brothers the most.
