Mathnasium of Oviedo: PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE

Chunky, creamy, crunchy or smooth...we love all types of peanut butter.
That's why Mathnasium of Oviedo is collecting peanut butter jars to donate to our local food pantries!
You may be wondering, "Well, why peanut butter?" Peanut butter is not only delicious and nutritious, but also has a long shelf life -- which makes it the perfect item for food pantries.
Our goal is to collect 100 JARS by September 30 and we need your help!
With every jar your child donates, they'll earn one punch card and have their name entered in a weekly drawing for a Mystery Box. Help us hit our goal and we will throw a celebration party on Thursday, October 1st!
If you are an @Home student, swing by our center Monday, Sept. 28 through Wednesday, Sept. 30 for Curbside Donation Drop-Off and Reward Pick-Up!
The Peanut Butter Drive is not limited to Mathnasium students. We are also accepting donations from members of the Oviedo community.
Peanut butter must be sealed and unexpired. Thank you for continued support and we can't wait to see what we can accomplish together!

My daughter had been coming to mathnasium for around 5 years now, and even during lockdown for the pandemic they were tutoring her online, so she has not missed out on her math tuition at all this year. Infact she prefers the online tutoring session. In a nutshell she has gone from failing math with an average of a D, to a consistant A and loves math now. Mathnasium does not only teach math, but they teach the basics of math in a way that the student understand s it, once they understand the fundamentals, they no longer hate math. I cannot even begin to stress enough, that if your child hates math and is failing in it, Mathnasium...especially the center on Lockwood which is where we go, is your answer. Highly recommended.

We love Mathnasium of Oviedo! While not the kids favorite thing to do, Mathnasium of of Oviedo has been there to support our kids and as a result I no longer hear "I hate math" instead I hear "I'm good at math" . Carley has been tremendous to fit our kids in when they are having problems or we are having problems getting same day appointment, which is an extremely important service for us.

Our son continues to enjoy the face-to-face interaction and support he gains with every session. The points he can earn also keep him motivated. Mathnasium has and continues to be a very worthwhile experience for our 10th grader as he continues to establish a strong math foundation and get the support he needs to succeed in Algebra 2.

we want to thank you for your fantastic virtual schooling which really enabled my daughter to continue her math tuition over summer while we were hit with Covid 19. She is now doing virtual school and finding Trigonometry fairly easy thanks to all the summer teaching. I would like to say to parents, get to a point where your child is ahead in their learning, this will make their school experience so much easier. Thank you Mathnasium Oviedo for the years of tuition you have put into my daughter, I feel she is exceling where before she was failing in math.

We love Mathnasium . The instructors and staff are very friendly and elaborate very well when you ask questions. In a short period of time, my son was helped very much academically. He jumped two grades up in just a few months. He started to find the love for math. We would highly recommend Mathnasium to anybody.

My kid has been going to Mathnasium for the last 6 years. Did a lot of progress. He really enjoys it here and we always had a great relation with the staff and the director.
Some changes occured recently that took us by surprise ( limiting the number of times a week we can bring him there).
I also wished Mathansium was open on Saturdays also.

Despite the challenges of this Covid season, the staff at our Mathnasium have been in regular contact, and as soon as we could send our son for face-to-face sessions again, the protocols have been held, and my son is doing all the better in his math. Thank you to the Oviedo Mathnasium staff and teachers for their magnificent efforts online and in person with my son.

yes the coronavirus! hit us all, and I was wondering how my daughter would cope with doing her mathnasium tuition online.......and she loves it! she loves it so much infact, that she will continue to do online tuition thru mathnasium oviedo. The instructors are thorough, patient and very competent. My daughter does 1 1/2 hours either 3 or 4 times weekly. I just want to say a big thank you to mathnasium oviedo with their hard work, their interest in my daughter and her success and their professionalism. She is now working on her next years math so she can have a nice head start. I would highly highly recommend Mathnasium Oviedo if your child needs math help and you want them to succeed. You won't regret it!

I highly recommend this mathnasium off Lockwood in Oviedo. The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and my daughter went from a failing grade to consistant A's. What other recommendation do you need than that? My daughter goes to mathnasium about 3x weekly, at the beginning we were going 4-5x weekly so she could get caught up the three years she was behind. She is now at high school and doing exceptionally well in math. it is wonderful when she is working on a new chapter at school to know she will get support and help at mathnasium, thereby enabling her to successfully navigate her school's math curriculum. In order to succeed however, both the parent and the child need to be invested, you cannot go once a month and expect to succeed. You have to invest time every week but isn't it worth it? this is your child's entire future that you and I are trying to help with. I hope this helps anyone thinking of attending mathnasium.

The staff and management at OVIEDO Mathnasium are wonderful! They are fully engaged with each kid and their needs! My son turned his grade around in his Algebra 2 from a D to a B by the end of the school year due to the help he received at Mathnasium!!! We are so glad we signed him up for this program! I highly recommend you do 6-12 month program for the consistency and year long help they get! I didn’t need to worry about his math grade anymore - such a relief for busy working parents!! my daughter has been coming to mathnasium in Oviedo for about 3 years now, maybe a little longer! she was failing at math at school and hated the subject. She was approx. 3 years behind in her knowledge and mathnasium gradually brought her up to the level she should be at. She has gone from a D to an A. She no longer hates math either, like I said to her "if you can do it, you wont hate it". However, as a parent, I would advise you that you need to be consistent bringing your child into mathnasium, it will not work if they attend a couple of times a month. My daughter goes regularly at least 3 x weekly for an hour and in the school holidays she gets rewarded if she attends a total of 30x. Remember this is what we need to do as parents to make our children's adult lives successful, so it is a commitment you and your child must take, but it is not that hard and once they start succeeding they will love attending! The staff are great and very attentive, and invested in your child's success!

Mathnasium is a life saver for our son. He had been skipped essentially 2 grade levels due to his high performance in the FSA testing at the end of last year, but as a result he was completely lost with the math that was being assigned this year, leading to very frustrating late homework nights that were draining and stressful for our whole family! Mathnasium instantly - literally after his first lesson - gave him the confidence and the skills to accelerate his learning to the point that he struggles the least out of everyone in his class, even after skipping 2 grade levels! He also enjoys the company of the teachers at Mathnasium, as they’re young (and therefore automatically cool) and personable. It’s pricy. Not gonna lie. But if our son is willing to do 7.5 hours of extra homework every week - eagerly - then I am supportive - both morally and financially, lol.

Our son, who is getting ready to start high school in the fall and is retaking Algebra I for summer school, has yet to come out unhappy from his Mathnasium sessions. He may go in a little grumpy (probably due to "losing" some game time ;-) ), but his teachers always have him come out a happier guy. Not having digital distractions and getting face-to-face time is important to me as his parent, and my son enjoys the time with his Mathnasium teachers and the admin. He is getting stronger grades, which is what we would expect and why we initially signed him up, but the fact he enjoys his visits is a major plus.

Marissa is doing well; I will be curious to see what some of her re-evaluation results will be after the 8-12 weeks. She doesn't complain much about going so I think it's a pretty great atmosphere! We did some state testing a week ago and she did much better than last year. Thanks!

While my son may go in grumpy to a Mathnasium session, he has yet to come out that way. He benefits from face-to-face instruction from teachers who are happy to be there. Sara Halverson (sp?) did a wonderful job going over our sons progress and looking at the next steps, what he’s accomplished and expectations. She is very pleasant and knowledgeable! my daughter is now an A grade student at Oviedo high school thanks to mathnasium. Previously she was failing at math in elementary and middle school until we signed her up with Mathnasium Oviedo. As a parent, you do have to ensure (if your child is behind) that both you and your child make an effort to come into mathnasium regularly to obtain full benefit of their expertise but I can promise you it is worthwhile to help your child succeed in their future.

My 7th grader son was really struggling with math, it was really frustrating to see him every day trying to complete his assignments, studying and not being able to help him. We are really glad and happy we found Mathanasium, thanks to them we’ve seen an improvement in his grades.

we have been taking our daughter to mathnasium for over 2 years. At the beginning she was at least 2 years behind. With diligence from her by putting in the hours every week (4-5) and with the great tuition from the instructors, she is now an A student at high school. Your child CAN succeed but there has to be a consistent commitment from the parents and kids...You cannot expect miracles if you do not put in the time! Having said that, Mathnasium has turned my daughter from a failing math student to a student who loves geometry and all things math! thank you mathnasium

excellent tutoring, I cannot say enough about the wonderful tutors in mathnasium Oviedo who work so hard with my child and the others, to help them succeed and understand math and math fundamentals. I would advise parents and students however that you need to put in the time and come to mathnasium at least 3x weekly but that is little enough to ask to enable your child to have a secure future...or at least that is what I think. I feel if we were not attending mathnasium my daughter would have continued her downward spiral and contine failing. Now she is getting consistent 'A"'s and the staff at mathnasium are to thank for that.

my daughter has been coming to mathnasium for a couple of years now. She was very behind and failing at school. We knew we had to intervene to get her math tuition so we enrolled her in mathnasium. She worked hard and was happy to come because of the individual attention and the friendliness of the staff. Her math scores started to get better and now she is an 'A" student. I think the fact she went from an 'F" to an 'A" speaks for itself. That being said, the parent and student also need to ensure they attend at least 3x a week and put in the effort. Highly recommended for struggling students and parents who are invested in their child's success in life.

since coming to Oviedo mathnasium, my daughter has gone from a failing grade to a consistant "A". I think that sums it all up! The staff and instructors are wonderful, friendly and approachable, and my daughter loves to learn at mathnasium. Having this ability to stay ahead of the school curriculum enables her to understand the work easily in a classroom setting, and get her work done ahead without any difficulty. No matter what we needed to sacrifice to keep our daughter succeeding with the help of mathnasium, we would do it. After all we are raising adults and to help them be successful in their adult life is what we as parents need to be doing. Mathnasium is a big part of this. Thank you

what can I say except thank you for helping my daughter who was getting a failing grade in math, to a passing grade of "A". We enrolled her a year and half ago because I could no longer keep up helping her with her homework. We needed help and we knew we had no choice but to reach out. You have consistently been able to work with her and explain things in such a way she understands it and she loves coming to you for an hour 4x a week. If any parents are reading this, it is up to you and your child to ensure you go to mathnasium at least 3x a week. They cannot work miracles with an absent child! You and your child must put in the time and I will promise you your math grades will improve. They are there to help you but you must also help by attending. While we are raising our child...we are raising future adults and have to ensure they achieve and math is so important...I cannot even stress that enough. Well worth the investment in your child's future! highly recommended.

When my daughter started studying for the 3rd grade FSA, I was very concerned about her ability to pass. She struggled with reading comprehension and it only made understanding math word problems more difficult. After taking a practice FSA test at Mathnasium, it was evident she needed a little help. The staff were quick to provide assistance in all areas of math by helping my daughter improve her existing math skills, develop new ones for the coming year, and even helped with homework. Their hours are convenient and they are always willing to make changes in the curriculum to focus on specific topics when needed. Most importantly, my daughter loves going to Mathnasium because they make it fun!

I recommend mathnasium of Oviedo every time I talk to parents about kids and homework. You have single handedly brought my daughters score from a failing grade to an A grade within a year and a half. We are not raising children but raising adults and we need to give them the best future we can! mathnasium is part of that future.
