Happy Pi Day! March Math Activity
Mar 3, 2020
Pi appears everywhere there's a circle, such as the disk of the sun, planets, and earth. It's in the physics that describes waves, such as ripples of light and sound—which means pi is a part of how we see and hear. Pi even appears in the spiral of the DNA double helix.
Why should we care about pi? Because we are all made of pi!
Here at Mathnasium, we help children understand math, but we also want them to learn about why math is fun and important. Pi Day is our favorite opportunity to make math fun and accessible to kids, and to help them understand why math is important for more than just school work and grades.
This month, you can help your child understand and play with the concept of pi at home by printing out our March Pi Day math activity. Just click on the link below to print out the lower elementary or upper elementary version of this fun and interactive math activity!

Students can complete the activity on their own, but it's more fun if they can do it with family or with friends.
Follow us on any of our social media channels to let us know how your family used the Pi Day activity, and to keep up with all future Mathnasium at home math activities. And be sure to stop by the Mathnasium learning center nearest you to celebrate Pi Day with yummy food and fun games!
ALERT
Our Center is Open in compliance with CDC & State guidelines. Sessions are scheduled to maintain the proper distance between students. Our online learning platform is now a permanent part of our program for those that require or prefer it.
