Q: Why did you choose to own a Mathnasium center? A: My wife Kathryn and I were looking for a career change from our consulting backgrounds (IT and management consulting), and an opportunity to own a small business in the community. We both also love math and thought Mathnasium would be a great option!
Q: What do you like about the city your Mathnasium center is located in? A: Nottingham is a great small town, with a diverse and vibrant community!
Q: Can you think of any way that your center has positively impacted the community that it’s located in? A: Beyond providing a great place for students to grow their math knowledge and skills, we've had the opportunity to participate in a number of local Math Nights and community events (e.g., Perry Hall Town Fair) over the years. We always enjoy getting out in support of the community and local PTAs!
Q: Did you like math when you were in grade school? A: Yes, I enjoyed learning math and solving problems. I especially like geometry as it seemed to make sense to me right away, and I could easily envision geometric shapes and problems/solutions!
Q: What do you think you would have liked most about Mathnasium if you had attended when you were in grade school? A: I would have liked the success I would have felt and growing self-confidence in my own abilities.
Q: One last question, what’s something fun you enjoy doing in Nottingham? A: We love going to Orioles games and eating out at local restaurants in and around Perry Hall. We just discovered Bowley's Quarters and love the outdoor seating area near the water! We also can frequently be found near the water - enjoying swimming, boating, or just relaxing by a local river, the Bay or the Atlantic Ocean."
