Beenish R, Center Director
Beenish has a background in technical-designing, and has been actively involved in various aspects of the field for over 5 years. Math was her favorite subject during her school years, and has remained an area of interest all throughout her educational and professional life. Beenish loves helping children understand math facts and concepts. She has tutored many kids including her nephews and nieces, and believes good grasp of Number Sense is quintessential to the educational growth of children. She believes Mathnasium method does an excellent job in making math make sense to children. She thinks that sound mathematical skills are not only important for students planning their careers in technological fields, but also for those aiming for liberal arts since understanding and performing many tasks involve underlying knowledge on Math. Beenish lives in Long Island with her husband (and Co-Director) Mamoon.
Russell Gambardella, Instructor
Russell graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a concentration in physics. He has completed one year towards his Master’s Degree in Adolescent Education in Mathematics at SUNY Old Westbury. A couple of his favorite things aside from mathematics are sports and games. He strives to be creative by combining those passions with his interest of both theoretical and applied mathematics/physics. Using mathematical models, statistics, deductive and inductive reasoning, and game theory, he has had great success on DraftKings including a 3 rd place finish out of 77,205 entrants in an NBA tournament. He loves to challenge himself and others to do their best.
Phil has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is currently working towards a degree in Mathematics at Stony Brook University, to ultimately lead to a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics. He began teaching in the New York City Public School system, which was both challenging and highly rewarding. He also taught in Hofstra University later. Phil with his teaching colleagues started developing and teaching classes in Video Game Development and Robotics. These programs were run in many schools now. One of the main goals in teaching these programs was to get students excited about math and science. He loves teaching math. He spent his teaching days developing different ways of understanding math skills and concepts so that every child's learning method was tapped into. He is a caring and important member of the Mathnasium staff.
Nicole Harrington, Instructor
Nicole has always seen the importance of teaching others about subjects that will play a huge role in their lives due to the presence of dedicated educators in her life. Math has been always been something she is very passionate about and has used it to enhance her knowledge of biology and physics within the science field which is a big part of her life. She believes math allows children to grow and challenge themselves everyday. Being able to help children to understand the mathematical skills used in almost every field today as well as basic day to day tasks is something she hopes to accomplish at Mathnasium.
Gabrielle Meyers, Instructor
Having grown up in a mathematically inclined household, Gabrielle was raised with a passion in mathematics. She has always felt that math is important due to its many applications in the real world. She encourages kids to acknowledge the importance of math in their present and future lives. She brings a unique level of energy and excitement to Mathnasium
Grace Chan, Instructor
Grace has always felt passionately about math. She believes math is one of the most important subjects that everyone should learn. Math has always been a huge part of her life. She thinks learning math can help students with their logical thinking. She loves helping kids understand math, and teaching them how to apply it in real life. Besides math, she also likes art and history. She thinks math is another form of art and it is beautiful. She looks forward to the challenge of math problems and loves to find solutions to them.
Priyanka Gera, Instructor
Priyanka has always loved math because it is one of the few subjects that everyone needs to utilize. She has taken it upon herself to help others who struggle in her favorite subject. She thinks Math should be made easy to understand and follow through with. She loves working with kids and finding new ways to explain topics. She believes that if students are engaged in what they are learning than they will retain the information longer and understand it as well. She hopes to spread her passion for math to other students and make it an enjoyable experience.
Christopher Arata, Instructor
Chris is thrilled to be part of the Mathnasium team, and likes sharing his knowledge and passion for math. He is currently studying at Nassau Community college, and aims to become a high school teacher. He loves teaching kids math in a manner that facilitates thorough understanding of the subject.
