We were looking to provide our daughter with additional support for her math studies. As a Junior in High School it was difficult to find time to keep up with all of her studies and homework, with Math being the one subject she seemed to struggle most with. We saw the new Mathnasium opening up in Oak Park and thought we would give it a try. From the first session, my daughter commented on how much she enjoyed both the environment and her tudor. We never have to ask her to go, she literally tells us that she wants to go 2 to 3 times a week for the 1-hour session. She says that it allows her to complete her Math homework assignments, gets extra help on material she is struggling with, and also helps her better prepare for quizzes and tests. With the help of Mathnasium, she has maintained an A average during her entire Junior and Senior year of high school. Thank you Mathnasium for your program and especially for the genuinely terrific people you have working for you.

So far everyone has been very kind. At first, Christian was not happy about attending Mathnasium. However, his father and I encouraged him to give it a try. We explained that it would build up his self confidence in mathematics and there are plenty of room to grow if he is persistent and determined to make a go of it. He really needs to know that smart is cool, and not have anyone bully or make him feel that it’s not a good thing or make him feel as though he has done something wrong. Dad and I are praying for positive results. We look forward to working with the folks at Mathnasium to help Christian succeed.

Mathnasium came through for us when we needed a very high-level (Calculus) tutor. We were able to get in for a free trial session while other facilities were still scrambling to see if they could find anyone to assist at that level. They were able to help my daughter through the material in a manner that was straight-forward and made it easy to understand. Just what we needed!

I called several tutoring centers trying to find someone to help my daughter with Calculus. They didn't have anyone to tutor at that level, they weren't available during the times we were available, or we would have to travel out of our way to get to them. On the other hand, Mathnasium invited us in for a free trial on the same day that I contacted them. Brian was fantastic! My daughter actually understood the information and made it through the materials much faster than expected. I don't know what we would have done without Mathnasium.

Mathnasium has been such a wonderful thing for our family! Our son who has always hated math now does his homework without any arguments and is so proud to bring home his tests and quizzes that went from Ds and Fs to As and Bs! Our daughter, who has always been advanced loves going and learning new things as they provide the right level of challenge for her that the schools cannot. We are so happy to have found Mathnasium and love the unlimited attendance, friendly staff, and convenient location. I highly recommend this place!

The staff are so great about providing feedback.Rob provides detailed observations about my daughter including how she is doing with the addition of afternoon medication for her ADHD. Rob is an example of how the staff here are interested in each child as an entire person, not just as a budding mathematician. The staff seem to genuinely enjoy working with kids and making the whole experience of learning fun for them. Thanks for everything to Rob and the entire staff at Mathnasium!

My 10 year old daughter was falling behind in math. When she said to me “I’m bad at math,” I immediately called Mathnasium. She now goes willingly (which you can’t always say about kids’ enthusiasm for math) and enjoys her time there. Best of all, she’s been keeping up and understanding new math concepts. They’ve been flexible with her tutoring, as she has gaps in different areas, not just one. Which has helped her be more confirdent. She no longer believes that she is “bad at math.”

Our daughter has been going to Mathnasium for the past 2 summers and I have seen a growth in her that summer school never achieved. She's more confident in her math skills and not afraid to ask questions when she doesn't understand the problem, her teacher even commented on her improvement. I thank Mathnasium for there one on one attention they provide to every child, keep up the good work Mathnasium.

My student loves the Mathnasium community--and it IS truly that--a community--of energetic, fun, committed people who knew her name and greeted her enthusiastically upon her very first arrival. She quickly began to "show off" some of her new math acumen --volunteering to calculate things in her head (how much for a tip, how much for an outfit she wants, etc.)
I couldn't be more surprised and thrilled at her increasing excitement to deepen her math skills. Previously it was music and literature and art--now she is asking me how math relates to writing songs, poetry, etc, and is making connections that will only enrich her educational experience as well as her curiousity-driven affection for learning new things.

I am always very eager and exited to go to Mathnasium. I have already learned a lot in math, and my confidence has grown. Everyone there is very inclusive, convivial, and fun to be around. Mathnasium works! My student has attended two summers to prevent brain drain when school resumes and it shows. He picks up math studies where he left off, no lengthy review needed. His PAARC math score exceeded his grade levels. This is a student with a serious attention disorder.
Only one negative comment: I didn't get an exit interview in August on student's progress. It's as though once personnel learned we would not be signing up for continued services over the school year, we didn't matter to them or they didn't have time for us anymore. Not good.

Mathnasium is AMAZING!! I can't believe the improvement we've seen. Our only issue is the scheduling limitations we've encountered over the summer. Morning slots are always booked, we've sadly never been able to get one. Unfortunately, we are unable to book weeks in advance due to a wacky summer plans, which is what is probably needed to secure the bookings you want. And several days, we've wanted to come in, but there were no times at all available. I realize we can call, and we have done that in the past, but I always feel that it must be stretching your staff. Bigger space, perhaps????
Overall fantastic though! Thank you to your incredible instructors!
