Hi, my name is Alexandria and I’m an instructor at Mathnasium of Riverside! I completed my bachelors in pure mathematics and I am currently enrolled in a dual grad program to receive my masters in math education and my single subject teaching credential. My plan is to complete my program at the end of 2024 and become a high school math teacher in 2025. I have always had a passion for math ever since I can remember, but it really grew in my high school precalculus class. Now, I know everyone assumes that math majors have excellent math skills, but I want to show young minds that mistakes are extremely common for math majors, even math teachers. I make mistakes in math and I even used to find math challenging as a child! But the point is to learn from our mistakes to make us better students and individuals. This is why I like that Mathnasium tackles teaching math concepts in different ways. My goal is to teach students that anyone can succeed in math. With the right materials, the right instruction and the right support, anyone can learn, enjoy, and thrive in math. With a little bit of time, patience, and motivation, students will have a positive relationship with math and learn that it is nothing to be scared of! :) MY FAVORITE MATH JOKE: Once there was a hen who counted her own eggs. She was a mathemachicken!

Nava

Instructor
Hi, I’m Nava and I’m an instructor at Mathnasium of Riverside. I'm a Masters Student at CSU-Fullerton for Mechanical Engineering. I’ve completed my undergrad in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in physics at UC-Riverside. I'm passionate about mathematics in all its forms from the proofs that are so simple they seem silly to the long derivations we find in calculus. I love the mind bending puzzles that computer science forces us to face, but also the simple pleasure of balancing equations. I bring a can-do positive attitude to every problem I approach, because I know that even when I can’t reach a solution to a complex issue, I can always learn from it. I have a passion for learning and I always strive for deeper understanding between myself and the people around me. Thank you so much for reading, I'm excited to learn with you!

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
