Cory Applegate

Owner & Center Director

Prior to opening his Mathnasium center, Cory worked in the financial services industry. He is a graduate of Salem High School in Salem, Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Averett University. Having enjoyed math as a child, Cory is enthusiastic about helping every child in the Roanoke Valley truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. He is committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the community and showing them how math can be made fun!

Beth Applegate

Owner & Marketing Director

Beth, Cory's wife, has spent her professional career in customer support and corporate training for an educational software company. She is a graduate of Roanoke Catholic School in Roanoke, VA and earned both a Bachelor of Arts in History and in Spanish from Virginia Tech. Beth is passionate about the education of children. As a mom, she experiences first hand how important it is to keep children engaged in learning, and can't wait to meet you at the center!

Chanhong L

Assistant Center Director

Chanhong is the Assistant Center Director at Mathnasium of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Martinsville High School in Martinsville, VA. Chanhong earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Asian Pacific American Studies and a Master of Teaching in Elementary Education from the University of Virginia. She was a member of her high school math team and continues to enjoy learning new ways to solve math and life problems.
