Becky Barnes (Owner)
Becky & Bob are co-owner of Mathnasium of Rockwall-Heath. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Becky brings has a love for teaching and a desire to see children succed in school. Becky has experience in a wide range of math curricula and is deeply convinced that Mathnasium's approach is the best available to fill in learning gaps that have developed over the years. Bob's undergraduate degree is Elementary Education and Masters is in Education. With over 40 years of teaching experience, he is committed to helping young people succeed in a subject that frustrates so many students...Math.
Dave Sanders (Instructor)
Dave Sanders (Instructor)Dave's rich background incudes a career in engineering and he was president of and automotive company in Detroit. His heart turned to teaching, and he received his Masters of Education from Georgia Southern, University Currently he is working on his Phd in Education at Georgia Southern Engineering. His experience includes over a decade of teaching math at East Georgia State College

The first visit was very positive and Becky did a great job showing him what they could help him with but also pointed out what he was already great on! He has really enjoyed the instructors he’s worked with and has even thanked me for getting him into tutoring. It’s all worth it to hear your child tell you they feel more confident in math at school!

Pre-Calculus was a struggle for my high school son. Thanks to the wonderful tutors at Mathnasium, my son has brought his Pre-Calculus grade up from 72 to 85 within several weeks. Both my kids absolutely enjoy Mathnasium! They say they're always greeted with a smile and positive attitude...and the special snacks are a plus! In my opinion, the place is ran efficiently and effectively. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Their program and learning plans are kid specific based on the assessment. Yes, the cost is pretty high, but totally worth it! My 10th grader is in Pre-AP math and thought he grasped all the concepts throughout the school year; however, through his learning plan, he has realized he didn't understand everything completely. He is now more confident in his knowledge and ability to perform calculations correctly. I have an older kid who took time away from college, and his learning path is getting him ready to reenter school. The skill assessments, practice sheets and curriculum is definitely bring him up to the speed he needs to be successful. Becky, Tyler, Pamela...just to name a few, go above and beyond to make sure my kids succeed. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mathnasium!

Mathnasium has been a Godsend for us this year! Because of COVID and the affect that it has had on our kids’ education, my son was drowning in Pre AP Geometry his first year in high school. We decided to give it a try because he desperately needed face to face instruction. He has gone from making 20’s on quizzes to 87’s on his exams! This has just been in a matter of 3-4 weeks! He loves going to the center and always comes out excited and feeling more prepared for his assignment. This is coming from a 15 year old young man that wanted NOTHING to do with having a tutor when we first began tossing the idea around. Thank you Mathnasium!!!

Mathnasium Rockwall really helped hone in on my daughters weaknesses in high school math to help her gain knowledge and confidence to move into College Algebra. The program provided a discipline and structure that she needed. The tutors were great and attentive to how quickly she was going through the work which allowed her to move at a fast pace since this was more of a review for her.

Becky and Melody are wonderful they go out of their way to try to help you help your child. The program is comprehensive and works in stages so that they gained information they were missing and then continue to build on top of it.
Reviews tutors and tutor services before but feel that mathnasium helps do so much more then just getting through the day today homework they help set your child up for success

Our daughter just started at Mathnasium and already we have seen her enthusiasm towards math increase. Her teacher says that her confidence seems better and she says that the teachers at Mathnasium know how to teacher the way she best learns. She loves the one-on-one help she receives and the positive feedback. I am so glad she attends Mathnasium, I only wish we would have signed her up sooner!

My Granddaughter was struggling with Algebra even after hiring an in home tutor and getting very low grades in school. The instructors at Mathnasium helped her increase her grade by 47 points in just about 3 weeks. She is really getting it now and has excellent help there when she doesn't understand something. Sydney and Sammy have both benefited greatly from going to Mathnasium! They each have different strengths and weaknesses. The curriculum is tailored specifically to address the unique needs of each student. We are very grateful for Becky and Bob. They are so attentive and helpful! This is the way math should be taught!
My children learned in a systematic way at their level and pace. There was no wasted time working on skills they already knew. It focuses on their individual needs. Mathnasium is also very good at communication. They let me know exactly where my child is functioning.

I cannot say enough great things about Mathnasium of Rockwall. They are simply unparalleled in their field. My daughter was struggling with math and while having help at school, it just wasn't enough. With the STAAR test on the horizon, we decided to get her extra help and enlisted Mathnasium as a last resort. We had tried other tutors and tutoring facilities and they just didn't fill in the gaps or meet our expectations. Our daughter started in February and within days we saw the lightbulb go off. We noticed her confidence increasing and her excitement of actually doing math vs. the crying frustration we had experienced in the very recent past. In May she took the STAAR test and the morning of she told me, "don't worry Mom, I got this" and she did. She went from meets grade level in 3rd grade to Masters grade level in 4th and I attribute that to her teachers dedication, my daughters tenacity and most definitely, Mathnasium's help. She has continued through the summer to keep her math skills sharp and I have no doubt she will have a very successful 5th grade year! We will absolutely be back in January to start the STAAR prep to ensure there are no gaps and that she's confident and ready to master that test again!

Our family has had our children attending Mathnasium of Rockwall since it first opened. Initially, both kids attended year round. Now In later grades, they go every summer to keep up their math skills and get a head start for the coming year. The assessment tools and teaching methods are excellent and they do a great job of identifying areas of focus and customizing the work to fit each individual child’s needs. They also offer real time feedback as to how they are progressing. On a personal note, the owners are very dear people. They have a true desire for each child to succeed and take pleasure in helping kids accomplish their math goals. I have and will continue to recommend this business to anyone who has a desire to either help their children succeed in mathematics.

Mathnasium has been so wonderful for both of our children. We are so grateful to the amazing staff. Our children (13 and 8 years) love coming to work on math. It has been a very positive experience. The instructors really do care about teaching children math, not just a quick fix to help with a single assignment. The staff wants the children to really learn math, math terms, math strategies for life so that they have a deep, on-going understanding of math and math concepts. Ms. Becky Barnes is so kind and really cares about the children, as well as loving math. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this Rockwall Mathnasium. It is an outstanding program for all levels of math, from early math skills to AP high school math skills.
