Meet the Team at Mathnasium of San Jose Central

Quynh

Quynh is a freshman at De Anza College, where she is majoring in Business Admin. She has been working with Mathnasium since fall 2021. Quynh enjoys teaching students and helping them truly understand the material. She feels involved in each student she teaches and hopes to understand their academic needs well. She has experience as a volunteer tutor for the past 4 years. In her free time, she enjoys swimming and knitting.

Cindy

Cindy is a senior at University Preparatory Academy and enjoys helping children in their educational journey. She has been working since Winter 2022. She has previously tutored children at her middle school and during summers at Seven Trees Library. She enjoys reading and gaming in her free time.

Anvay

Anvay is a sophomore at Silver Creek High School and is currently taking AP Calculus AB. He enjoys assisting students in math and has previously tutored at his school. He has been working at Mathnasium since June 2023. Anvay's future goal is to become a teacher, and in his free time, he enjoys hiking and playing basketball.

Ngoc

Ngoc is currently a junior at Evergreen Valley High School. She has been tutoring at Mathnasium since February 2023. Math has always been her favorite subject and outside of school, she strives to bring that joy of dealing with numbers to other kids. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and eating out with her family!

Christine

Christine is a sophomore at University Preparatory Academy who enjoys math as her favorite subject and has a soft spot with children. She strives to assist kids to enjoy and excel in math at Mathnasium. In her free time, she likes reading, gaming, and eating delicious food!

Tyler

Tyler is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at San Jose State University. He has a passion for mathematics and enjoys inspiring students to develop a similar passion. He understands the critical role mastering math plays in building a successful career. His hobbies include chess, tennis, basketball, programming, and reading science fiction and philosophy.

Melanie

Melanie is a senior at Silver Creek High School and is currently taking AP Statistics. She has previously tutored math and other subjects at her school and strives to understand and be of assistance for each student. In her free time, Melanie likes reading and trying new niches.

Sekhar Potluri

Sekhar has always loved math and enjoys being around and helping kids learn and enjoy math. Sekhar has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Before finding Mathnasium, he spent around 18 years in IT, Retail Management, and ventured into other businesses but always wanted to spend the rest of his life doing what he loved the most, being around and teaching children. He believes that the Mathnasium method of teaching math can change a child’s attitude towards math and help develop a deep understanding of “number sense”. Sekhar and his team at Mathnasium of San Jose Central are committed to helping children grow their interest and confidence in math and are very proud to bring the Mathnasium Method to your children in the San Jose Area.

Courtney

Courtney is currently attending San Jose State University, as a Design Studies major! She is expected to graduate in May of 2024. She is a new addition to the marketing team as of October 2023. She has prior work experience in an educational setting, as a Academic Operations Administrator. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her pets, trying new foods, and shopping!

Jason

Jason is currently attending San Jose State University studying Marketing! He is expected to graduate in December of 2025. He is the newest addition to the marketing team as of April 2024. He has prior experience in educational settings, marketing, admin tools, and project management. Jason enjoys going on hikes and hanging out with friends!
