Avanta Gulledge

Assistant Center Director
Avanta graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Maine, and continued her studies in both informatics research and pedagogy at Stony Brook University. She has 6 years of experience in the field of education, and has conducted research in quantitative pedagogy to evaluate student scientific literacy. Her approach as a teacher is to guide students to identify recognizable subcomponents of an unfamiliar subject; to lead students from novices to full mastery. Her goal is to use methods from each of her research disciplines in order to improve quantitative learning accessibility for all students. Avanta joined the Santa Clara Mathnasium in 2023, excited to join a collaborative team for a mission that matters.

Angie Yuan

Owner/Center Director
Angie started her career in Silicon Valley for Internet/Software companies and consulted for multiple startups in marketing, operations and funding strategies. Angie has been an active member in multiple start-up communities and a dedicated volunteer for various professional organizations. Angie holds an MBA degree in Management Information Systems from State University of New York at Albany with full scholarship. In early 2013, Angie discovered Mathnasium as a brilliant way to realize her passion for education and love for mathematics while helping kids succeed at school. She and the Mathnasium team of Santa Clara are committed to helping students grow their interest, skills, and confidence in Math and are very proud to bring the Mathnasium Method to the local community.

Brooks Franklin

Administrative Assistant
Brooks grew up in La Quinta, California and has previously worked in retail stores and in computer / electronic repair. He joined the Foster City Mathnasium team in early 2018. Starting to work as an instructor, he could very quickly see the impact that Mathnasium had on its students. Towards the end of 2019 he was promoted to an administrative role and with that new perspective he continued to see the benefits of the Mathnasium program. In addition to this, his new role had allowed multiple opportunities for him to learn new skills and gain experience working with new projects. His favorite parts of the job are organizing data collected from student sessions and creating and optimizing processes to make everyone’s job easier and / or more efficient.

Bryan

Administrative Assistant
Bryan studied Economics at the University of Southern California, but his secret is that his real passion lies in education and analyzing literature. He loves his Mathnasium coworkers and enjoys supporting the moderators in both classrooms. His favorite part of the job is finding the gap in a student’s knowledge and using his skills on the job to fill in that gap. “There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing a passing score on a student’s assessment”, he thinks, in a recent moment of introspection. He believes that it is not about what concepts a student gets wrong on a test, it’s about why and how they got it wrong.

Rehaan K

Instructor
Rehaan is a high school junior and avid math enthusiast. He has actively participated in math competitions and clubs since elementary school. Currently he is serving as the president and co-captain of his school's math team. He brings extensive experience tutoring middle and high school students. His passion for making math enjoyable and interactive led him to a position at Mathnasium. In his free time, Rehaan participates in sports, playing video games, hiking, and cherishing moments with friends.

Crystal L

Instructor
Crystal is a high school senior and is passionate about sharing STEM education. She loves working with students and seeing their growth through tailored teaching. Outside of Mathnasium, Crystal plays volleyball, leads her school's yearbook, and is interested in fashion design.

Daniel M

Instructor
Daniel is a freshman at Santa Clara University that has always had a knack for mathematics. He wanted to help struggling students and share his passion for math. Additionally, he hopes to make math simple so that students can move ahead quickly. In his free time, Daniel enjoys lifting weights and hiking with his dog.

Aadhithan A

Instructor
Aadhi is a senior in high school and has loved math since a young age. He joined Mathnasium because he wants to help students love math as much as he does,. Aadhi loves to make math fun for the students in our center. In his free tine, he enjoys football, video games, and hanging out with friends.

Emily T

Administrative Assistant
Emily graduated college from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior. She is currently working on her master's degree in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. Her interest in the education aspect of library science led her to Mathnasium. Emily specializes in day to day operations including administering assessments, developing individualized learning plans for each student, and more. She derives significant fulfillment in seeing kids realize their full math potential and foster growth here at Mathnasium.

Maryam I

Instructor
Maryam is a high school junior and has been working at Mathnasium for over a year. She has always loved math and working with kids. With her students, she aims to create a safe environment for them to learn, make mistakes, and try their best. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hanging out with friends and drinking boba.

Aarya C

Instructor
Aarya is a senior in High School who has always been passionate about math. He joined Mathnasium to help others and progress further in the subject. Aarya has always been passionate about teaching children math. In his spare time, Aarya likes playing tennis and programming.

Deeya A

Instructor
Deeya is a sophomore in high school who has always enjoyed math. She believes math can be empowering and hopes to help students grow their confidence in their math skills. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and ice skating.

Tanvi C

Instructor
Tanvi is a senior in high school. She has always been interested in Math and also enjoys working with students. Combining these interests, she decided to work at Mathnasium to inspire students to enjoy math. In her free time, Tanvi likes to do art and play golf.

Dana I

Instructor
Dana is a senior in high school. She finds joy in helping her peers and friends with math which led her to Mathnasium. She is proficient in a plethora of math subjects in AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, Algebra, and Geometry. She hopes to support the students in her center while also fostering their appreciation for learning. Dana likes to spend her free time coloring, watching Tangled, and spending time with her friends and family.

Toby Y

Instructor
Toby is a junior in high school. He decided to join Mathnasium due to his interest in teaching and gains satisfaction of aiding students solving math problems. He hopes students have fun while learning in center. During his free time, Toby enjoys socializing with his friends!

Idan V

Instructor
Idan is a high school junior and enrolled in the middle college program at West Valley College. He is excited to be part of Mathnasium, where he can share his passion for math with fellow students at the center. In his free time, Idan enjoys making and listening to music, hanging out with friends, and traveling.

Arjen S

Instructor
Arjen, a high school junior. She has had a passion for solving math and logic problems since she was young. Her introduction to Mathnasium began with volunteering at a math fun night at a local elementary school, where she engaged and had a great time with younger students. The opportunity to become a math instructor at Mathnasium during high school felt like things had come full circle for her! In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, spending time with friends, and playing the violin.

Elijah S

Instructor
Elijah is a junior at San José State University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. His enjoyment of math is particularly evident when collaborating with friends on engineering problems or assisting his younger sisters with their math homework. At the center, he aspires to help students gain confidence in math and experience the satisfaction of solving challenging problems. In his free time, Elijah enjoys going to the gym, watching football, and playing video games.
