We love being your neighborhood math only learning center. Did you know that Mathnasium of Santa Cruz also serves students from Bonny Doon, Capitola, Aptos, Watsonville, and even Salinas? We do. We’ve been amazed at the response to our new location in Santa Cruz and are looking forward to meeting even more students in the coming months to provide math help, math tutoring, and math enrichment. We have students at every level in the system benefitting from our proven model of math instruction. Our students are studying elementary math, algebra, geometry, and even calculus. During the pandemic, our child struggled with math through virtual learning and we struggled to help her in a way that she could understand the math problems. Math assignments were often a battle, child in tears, stressed parents. Then, we heard about Family Math Night through the school and decided to join in to see what these math games were about. Our child not only enjoyed playing the math games that night but also won a scholarship to Mathnasium for a month! In that month, she was eager to attend each math session and understood each lesson so much better than before. She has gone through almost this entire school year with no complaints about math, thanks to Mathnasium having the skill to teach in a way that she understands. In addition to that, you also make learning fun! She enjoys your puzzles and games that exercise critical thinking, problem solving, etc. Our child is still enthusiastic about Mathnasium as she was a year ago. So grateful such a program exists. Thank you!! Crying during math lessons is now ancient history in our family.

Been having a wonderful experience at Mathnasium. Carol, David, and the Mathnasium tutors have helped both of my children.
My kids started Mathnasium in the beginning of the pandemic and it helped and prepared my older son to get into Math Academy as a freshman at SCHS. My younger son was struggling in math and found it very challenging. He was embarrassed to ask his teacher and friends for help on zoom, and lacked confidence with his math skills.
Mathnasium helped him to understand math, prepare for tests, and definitely boosted his confidence level. He's still challenged with math, however he's built important skills and advanced to 7th grade math upon entry as a 6th grader at MHMS.
Both of my kids have enjoyed Mathnasium. The tutors are helpful, knowledgeable, and make learning math concepts fun. They also love the yummy treats and fun incentives that helped push them to learn math. Your kids will leave Mathnasium a better student. GO MATHNASIUM!!😀

Mathnasium has been a fantastic experience for my children, currently age 14 and 12. We began at Mathnasium during the pandemic. Both my kids, who excelled at math before 2020, had fallen behind during distance learning. In attending Mathnasium, not only did they get up to the level of math articulation they needed to be, they really enjoyed going. They found that love for math, and really enjoy working in the environment created by David and the other staff there. We had to take a break for sports, and my kids were the ones requesting to go back. When your kids ask you to bring them to a math tutor, you know the staff are doing a multitude of right in an array of different angles. My daughter is now going into high school with the recommendation for Math II, and my son is well on his way. It is a bit on the expensive side, but well worth the cost, as quality usually is. Thank you David and the entire Mathnasium crew, we greatly appreciate you!

Neither of our children have ever really liked Maths and yet they enjoy their classes at Mathnasium. David and his team are always encouraging, even when the topics are new and challenging. The prizes they give for work completed is very motivating to the younger children. Overall we couldn’t be happier. Our children are making great progress and, perhaps more importantly, are learning to enjoy maths.

My daughter has always been math-resistant, and has struggled with confidence in her skills. We recently discovered she has both ADHD and dyslexia, which have deeply impacted her experience in math. But she has been attending Mathnasium for about a month, and is so excited for each session! She is gaining confidence, not just at her sessions, but has also been participating more and feeling more confident at school. This has been a great experience for us.

Our son is in second grade and was struggling with remote learning in both math and reading - we wish there was a similar “Mathnasium” for reading and phonics because he has gained so much ground and caught up significantly in math. We appreciate the kindness and talent of the Mathnasium staff! Highly recommended!

My daughter benefited greatly from the Mathnasium during the pandemic and school shut down. She loves it so much that she wanted to continue over the summer and during normal school! She is likely ahead in math now, as she stayed on track during the shut down. Mathnasium was essential and fun for our family. We are fortunate that we have the resources to provide this for our child and acknowledge this privilege.

We LOVE Mathnasium! The only regret I have is that we did not start Mathnasium sooner during Covid! My daughter needs structure and she loves it! The joy over her face when she earned her zebra squishmellow stuffie was priceless…she earned her stuffed animal in her own merits! Thank you so much for getting her math skills ready for her new private school. You have become family to us!

My son was performing fine at grade level. However, I know truly understanding math makes life easier, and can be critical to many future careers. Teacher Carol has been amazing with my child. Not only is he doing math above grade-level now, but he has learned different strategies to solve problems. He is challenged without being overwhelmed. It’s a wonderfully balanced brain stretch!

We love Mathnasium! It is giving my 6th grader structure again in her online schooling and everything else in her life is working smoothly again. Math was a string subject for her, but between COVID and becoming a teen, things went south. Carol, the owner, is fantastic and love David the new manager....please trust your kid with Mathnasium Santa Cruz

Mathnasium has been great at welcoming our child and our famly into their practice. They pay attention and encourage our son while accommodating his individual style. Mathnasium has done an efficient job of transitioning into Dstance Learning during the Covid Shelter-In-Place, as well as maintaining a personable approach that allows our son to feel comfortable.
