Water Lantern Festival at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve

As kids get back to school and get settled in their new routine, here is an opportunity for our parents to plan a fun evening with their children. Take family and children to experience the magical Water Lantern Festival at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve on September 25, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm. This is a ticketed event. Lantern Kits are available for purchase. The event will have food and music. This festival is held across several cities in US and is Voted #1 Best Cultural Festival by USA TODAY!
Hope our parents and other families get to enjoy this popular event being hosted in our neighborhood.

I've used Mathnasium for 11 months. Thanks to Mathnasium, my 6 year old doesn't get frustration or fear of math any more. He now plays with numbers when he's bored. He's comfortable and at ease with math. He thinks he's good at math. :) He sometimes may get too comfortable at Mathnasium because the center is very welcoming. Very happy about the service. Thank you.

Everyone is so helpful, knowledgeable, and kind to my kids. They love coming to math- which is really amazing! The admin is flexible and responsive.
It would be great if there were more hours (open on Friday and Saturday) but I understand why it can't be.
Personally, I wish there wasn't so much candy.

My child has attended Mathnasium for a little over a month now. In this short time I can already see an increase in the confidence of the math skills of my 8 year old. However, this has not been the only benefit. It is helping her trust others and learn to function independently (without me). It's amazing how much she has grown and improved in such a short time. I truly appreciate the staff and the program at Mathnasium Santee. Thank you!!!

I was afraid the hour long sessions might be too long and dry for my kindergartener but he's enjoying the sessions. Thank you for keeping his focused and entertained.

Mathnasium has worked well with our schedule and the convenience of the at home learning has been a blessing during the pandemic. The instructors are very personable and patient and make math fun! My daughters gone from struggling every night with her homework to quickly completing it now with a smile!

I love that each child has their own curriculum! They go at their own pace, and as a teacher, that’s how I teach. Couldn’t be more happy with the support from staff. I always enjoy hearing the convos the staff has with each other. They have fun too! That’s the environment I want for my child. Balance!

My 11-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son started the program about a month ago and since then they have both been excited about Math and even on doing their homework. They really enjoy going there and even their teachers has seen the difference in their work and attitude. My son now helps others at school with their Math! The staff is always friendly and takes time to provide updates on my kids’ progress.

The program definitely helped my daughter gain math confidence and keep her skills up over the summer. My son was assessed at two grade levels above. For him I was hoping for an experience with more flexibility in challenging him. However the program works through the sheets and mastery checks and he was not pushed to excel past the level he was assessed at.
Overall it was a good experience, especially for kids struggling.

SATs have been my 17 yearl old daughters kryptonite. My daughter was resisant and her math confidence was nonexistant. After tutoring with Paul 2 days a week for 4 weeks she said she was going miss it and she really liked paul and is actually liking math for the first time. For a 17 year old girl to say that is incredible! SATs are today and i know she wont be overwhelmed by the math this time!

The staff is amazing! They love math and help the kids love math.... Or at least get through it lol. My 4th grade daughter said " they didn't make math fun, but they made it easy! " And I have to tell you, my high schooler could not have made it through Algebra 1 without Mathnasium. we have been to other math museums but I find Santee is my favorite.

My daughter is learning to be more independent with math computation. She is motivated by the prizes and I like how the schedule is flexible. It is important to me that the work she does is standards-based and her development is reported to me on a regular basis. The staff is consistent and helpful.

Mathnasium has really helped my son turn his grades around. I say grades because, since starting at Mathnasium he has improved in every subject. With math being a critical thinking skill, it has helped my son work through problems in every subject. He started last summer on a nine month contract, and I just renewed it for another nine months. I am very happy with Mathnasium and my son's results.

My 8-year-old son was really struggling in math. His math tests were in the 20% range. His frustration was simmering because his twin brother was thriving in the same grade at the same school. His grades were falling and we knew we needed outside help. I went the path less traveled with Mathnasium by buying eight, one-hour tutoring sessions.
We saw improvement immediately. In the end, he started to ace his math tests at school. He is now ASKING for more Mathnasium!!

We haven’t been going for long so I haven’t really seen any results yet but I know it doesn’t happen overnight. I know that he does need a lot of help with his homework because he still is not grasping the math that he is learning at the present time in his class and that’s what my concern is. I do like the fact that he is learning to fill in those gaps of math that he couldn’t grasp before.

My girls, who are homeschooled, are always nervous about new situations. They also are a little behind in math. So, those two things together made them wary about going. However, once they started, they loved the teachers and the easy-going atmosphere. I thought it would be pulling teeth to get them to go but, thank goodness, they actually enjoy it!

My son has had a great experience thus far at Mathnasium. The instructor's have kept him motivated and he enjoys attending several times a week. We have seen great improvement in not only his performance at school but his self confidence as well. I believe the investment made financially is well worth it.
