Middle school is a transitional period filled with discovery and development, making middle school the perfect time to build persistence, increase motivation, and prepare for future success in mathematics.
In these formative years students learn critical concepts that they will carry with them throughout the rest of their math careers, in this time period they are also developing either a love or hate relationship with the subject. Developing a strong understanding of math concepts in middle school can lead students to greater success down the line, while a lack of understanding will hinder motivation and growth.
This is also an essential time to encourage and assist students in taking ownership of their learning. Mathnasium will help students identify which concepts they understand well and those where improvement could be made. Helping students take control of their education, teaches them to motivate themselves and be eager about expanding their knowledge.
For many, middle school can present an interesting challenge, but when prepared, it can be a prime time for making positive change that will ensure success later in life.
