Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

Shalini Sawhney, Owner

Shalini graduated from University of Georgia, Athens in 2004 with a Masters in Marketing Research degree. She spent more than 15 years in the market research industry consulting with several Fortune 500 companies. Shalini has a passion for Math and strongly believes in the Mathnasium model. She wants to help children build a solid foundation in Math and help them be successful in their careers.

Gracyn Jewett, Instructor

Gracyn Jewett is a junior at Kennesaw State University. She is pursuing a degree in Physics, a minor in Mathematics,  and a minor in Applied Statistics and Data Analysis. She plans on pursuing a higher degree after she graduates. Gracyn enjoys working with children of all ages, and helping them enjoy one of her favorite subjects.
 

Parrish Studebaker, Instructor

Parrish currently attends Oglethorpe University and is pursuing a major in economics with a minor in math. Parrish is a graduate of Campbell High School and an International Baccalaureate diploma recipient. He is involved in several university organizations including Econ Club, Symphonic Orchestra, and Alpha Phi Omega (a national service fraternity). He enjoys working at Mathnasium because teaching math allows him to help children realize their own potential. Parrish has worked at Mathnasium since January 2017. 

Ajay Mathur, Instructor 

Ajay is a senior in the Campbell High School International Baccalaureate program. He is part of several clubs, such as BETA club, Mode UN, and Math Honors society. Ajay has loved math all his life and has been supported by incredible teachers. He loves teaching at Mathnasium because it gives him an opportunity to help students go through the same learning process that he went through when he was younger. In his free time, Ajay likes to play soccer or tennis, watch football, or sleep. Ajay has been working at Mathnasium since December 2018.

 

Emily Baker, Instructor 

Emily Baker is currently a sophomore at Georgia State University, where she is pursuing a major in Mathematics. Having had a love-hate relationship with math before meeting some great teachers, Emily enjoys teaching at Mathnasium because she wants to have a great impact on others. In her spare time, she loves to learn about space, go on long car rides, and hang out with animals. Emily started teahcing at Mathnasium in December 2018.

 

Rahjshiba Koanda, Instructor 

Rahjshiba Koanda is a student at Campbell High School and a full time dual enrollment student at Georia Tech. She is obssesed with math and insists that math is all around, if you look closely enough. Rahjshiba enjoys teaching at Mathnasium becasue she is able to share her passion and unique perspective of math with children of many different backgrounds. She's been teaching at Mathnasium since March 2017. For fun, Rahjshiba participates on a rock climbing team and plays piano.

 

Roberto Gonzales, Instructor 

Roberto is currently a senior at Kennesaw State University expecting to graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Roberto loves helping kids learn math by making it easier to understad. Some of Roberto's hobbies include watching NBA basketball and spending time with his family.  Roberto worked at two other Mathnasiums before starting to work at Mathnasium of Smyrna in August 2018.
