Katherine Haselton

Instructor
Katherine has been teaching math for over 49 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Penn State and is a die-hard Nittany Lion fan. Katherine earned a Master’s degree in Education also from Penn State. Katherine has shared her passion for teaching Math and believes that education is the key to success. We are exceedingly pleased that Katherine has been an integral part of our program since we opened our doors.

Janet Hammons

Instructor
Janet has been teaching Math in one capacity or another for over 40 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Mississippi College, and began her career as a High School Math teacher in Vicksburg, MS. Janet has tutored high-level Math as a substitute teacher and as a College Adjunct Professor. Janet credits her High School Algebra teacher with “triggering” a deep love of Math. Janet and her husband enjoy Kayaking and Hiking when not helping our Mathnasium students. Janet relishes the opportunity to share her enthusiasm for learning with our students

Bradley Sohn

Instructor
Bradley is a teacher at St. Augustine High School and has taught Algebra 2, Geometry, Algebra 1, AICE Thinking Skills, and Liberal Arts Math. Bradley graduated from Flagler College with a degree in Social Science Education. Our high school enrollees seeking help with “High Level” math and SAT prep, really value Bradley’s knowledge and extraordinary teaching style. Bradley strives to make sure that his students leave his classroom with a “curiosity” of mathematics and the world.

Christina Sohn

Instructor
Christina is a teacher at St. Augustine High School in the Exceptional Student Education program. She helps students with disabilities acquire skills in Reading, Math, and Academic Skills, such as organization and self-advocacy. She graduated from Flagler College with a Bachelor's in Education for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Elementary Education. She believes that all students are capable of learning and strives to inspire in her student's curiosity and passion for life

Cole Smith

Instructor
Cole Smith: Cole is a senior at Nease High School where he excels in his AP classes. Taking AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP Computer Science A, he is passionate about STEM. Scoring a 5 on his AP Calculus AB exam, a perfect 36 in ACT math and science, and a 790 on SAT math, Cole is a force to be reckoned with. In his free time, Cole likes to learn new programming languages and develop websites. He plans to study computer science at Cornell in the fall.

Christy Shao

Instructor
Christy Shao: Christy is an IB senior at Nease High School with an impressive 4.65 GPA. She excelled on her AP Calculus AB exam and now takes Higher Level IB Analysis & Applications 3. She is skilled in test taking, scoring 1520 on her most recent SAT. Her passions include leadership, medicine, and music. Christy serves on Nease's student council, founded Nease Vocal Jazz Club, has played piano for 10 years, and led her school's HOSA team⁠—a competition for future health professionals⁠—to internationals as President. She plans to study on a pre-med track at Johns Hopkins in the fall.

Katie Vaughn

Instructor
Katie Vaughn graduated from Allen D. Nease high school with not only her high school diploma but also obtained her associate degree through the Collegiate Program, graduating both Magna Cum Laude. Katie attends Saint Leo University pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and ultimately a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Katie has a passion for teaching, and in her free time, she works as the Color Guard Director at Allen D. Nease high school.
