Janice Heid, Center Director

Hi, my name is Janice Heid.  I am the Center Director at the Surprise Arizona Mathnasium Math Learning Center.  I struggled with math in school and when I became a teacher, I tried to make math interesting and fun for my students!  I sure wish I had been trained in the Mathnsium Method when I was a teacher!  I retired in 2010 after nearly 40 years in education.  My last 18 years were spent as an Elementary School Principal in Redmond, Washington near Microsoft.  I know that having a strong understanding of math allows a student more choices in high school, college, in career opportunites and in turn a better life! The Mathnasium method is incredible! As math makes sense to kids, they become and continue to be confident problem solvers!  Your child will catch up, keep up, get ahead, and stay ahead both in school and in life!

Chris Jirucha, Instructor

Chris graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with his degree in Aerospace Engineering. After graduation, he worked at Boeing as an engineer before heading off to Spain to teach for a year. Math has always been one of his favorite subjects and he's taken courses in multi-variable calculus, differential equations, and fluid dynamics. Chris enjoys helping others with math and is excited for the opportunity to help students improve.

Landon has a Bachelors in Science from NAU in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science.  He taught math courses in Algebra at  Coconino Community College and is currently applying to graduate schools.  Landon really knows his math and enjoys teaching kids.
