Matthew E., @Home Instructor
Matthew graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Mathematics. He enjoys how math is directly and indirectly applied to our daily lives. From calculating grocery totals, to solving the next puzzle in an escape room, math can be a useful tool when in a pinch. A San Diego native, Matthew likes Mexican food joints and cheering for the local Padres. He one day hopes to become a math teacher and strengthen others' minds through numbers.
Selena H., @Home Instructor
Selena loves working with the kids in our center to help them get their 'light bulb moment.' The satisfaction she gets from such experiences has inspired her to become a teacher. Selena enjoys painting her nails, drinking coffee and making jewelry when she is not in the center guiding students to their 'a-ha!' moment. Fun fact: Ms. Selena is afraid of butterflies because they are too delicate.
Chrislie P., @Home Instructor
Chrislie graduated with her Bachelor's of Science in Psychobioloy and a Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish from UCLA. She has hed various positions as a tutor in the past few years and enjoys helping students reach their full academic potential. Her favoring thing about tutoring math is seeing the students realize that it is very much applicable to every day life. In her free time, Chrislie likes to go to theme parks and explore what Southern California has to offer.
Oliver A., @Home Instructor
Oliver graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Some day he hopes to work as a process engineer, designing better and more efficient methods to produce something, be it computer chips or food products. Math has been one of his favorite subjects in school for as long as he can remember, and the feeling of finally figuring out a hard concept is hard to beat. At Mathnasium, he hopes to help the students find their love for math, and to help them get excited about overcoming their struggles in math. Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys spending time with his friends, bowling, cooking, or playing tennis.
Charles R., Instructor
Charles is a college graduate from the University of California San Diego and received his bachelor's degree in Joint Mathematics-Economics. Math has always been a subject that came naturally to Charles which is why it is no surprise why it is a subject that is easy for him to teach. Charles enjoys working with the children at Mathnasium because they have bright and eager personalities that he can bounce off from. He emphathizes with their struggles and tries to show the students how math can be applied in the real world, such as shopping, science, and sports. Just as Taylor Swift once said, "spelling is fun", Charles wants to show the students that math can be fun too.
Seth M., @Home Instructor
Seth is a currently attending University of California, San Diego, studying Aerospance Engineering. His favorite part of math is seeing how it can be applied to different aspects of life in surprising and elegant ways! Outside of work, he likes backpacking, improv, and playing chess and Dungeons & Dragons!
Andrew P., @Home Instructor
Andrew is currently attending University of California, San Diego, and plans to pursue a degree with physics and computer science to work on quantum computers with IBM. He loves math because it is a universal language that unifies and explains so much of the world around us. Outside of Mathnasium, you can catch Andrew playing the double bass and working with computers, such as programming and cyber security.
Tiffany C., Instructor
Tiffany has graduated from Golden West College with an AA in Math and Science, along with a Certificate in Accounting. She has worked in accounting for several years while obtaining a Bachelor's of Arts in Business Administration from the University of La Verne. From this, Tiffany became a staff accountant for various companies. Tiffany then became a stay-at-home mom to focus on her kids. Her son insisted being homeschooled, in which Tiffany did for his 6th and 7th grade years. She has taken the experience and knowledge that she has learned teaching him and started to tutor with an in-home tutoring company back in 2019. Tiffany loves math because it is a universal language and it is what got her to be able to support herself with a successful accounting career. Outside of Mathnasium, Tiffany enjoys to grow succulents, play Animal Crossing, and being with her family.
