There comes a time in home schooling when I am no longer able to answer my students questions about their math lessons. That has been around Algebra 2: "Why didn't my way work?" Until I found out that Mathnasium covers higher maths too, I had to out source higher math courses to local home school co-ops. None of these were particularly good in terms of instruction or even scheduling.
In my latest search for higher math help, I was so delighted to talk with Carla Strong and find out Mathnasium could help! The vetting process Mathnasium employs ensures that instructors are not only knowledgable but also know how to help a confused student. And the center is open six days a week with flexible scheduling. We are no longer struggling with math!

Mathnasium does an excellent job helping students who struggle with math conquer the subject and feel better about their math abilities. They are so willing to assist in any way and accommodate student schedules. We have used their tutoring for the last several years and I can't say enough about how great they are.

Our experience with Mathnasium has been excellent. Our daughter loves it even though it added significant hours to her already busy schedule. She looks forward to it! My son is an excellent math student. During 6th grade, Jan 2019, due to challenges with his teacher, he began to lose confidence in his ability. We enrolled him in Mathnasium. Almost immediately, his confidence returned. Then COVID closed schools & Mathnasium online became a regular anchor in the chaotic weeks of schools getting their feet in online learning. During that time, Mathnasium allowed us to know our son was NOT losing ground in math. Even as 7th grade began with an excellent math teacher, our son requested to stay with Mathnasium. We are so grateful for this program & the caring, consistent support of the teachers. We highly recommend the program to kids of all abilities. It’s simply fantastic!

We came to Mathnasium for the SAT Prep program for my rising junior. The level of support we received was outstanding - Mr. and Mrs. Strong pay attention to every detail and ensure that the students are continually being challenged and making progress. I am thrilled to say he did great when he took the SAT this November after working with the staff at Mathnasium. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

With this crazy time and no in person school Mathnasium has been a life saver for our 3 boys. We had our middle one at Mathnasium before all that during a time he was having some difficulties on his advanced math class and it worked wonders with him! We started our then 11 year old son, who had always been talented and confident in Math, in Mathnasium about 9 months ago when we began hearing lots of negative self-talk about math & his abilities in math. Through Mathnasium, he has regained his confidence & love for Math. In addition, Mathnasium @ Home has provided consistent structure and interaction with gifted teachers throughout the unexpected school closures & virtual learning. Our son enjoys & respects his Mathnasium teachers and regularly lets us know it is an important part of his “Covid life!” Thank you so much Mathnasium! Even with the Covid pandemic, Mathnasium has skillfully developed and offered to its students math tutoring that allows them to continue making progress with math safely. They have worked hard to ensure that there are as many tutoring options as possible for learning given the confines of the governmental regulations.

Our teenage son just started the remote sessions several weeks ago. It has been fabulous from the start (initial assessment) through to now. Some kind of magic is happening — he is completely happy to participate (three times a week) and enjoys working with the different tutors. He is in high school and has a significant math learning disability and executive functioning challenges— math has typically been for him a never-ending road of stress and humiliation. Not now! The Mathnasium staff meet him where he is at and take the time to figure out what strategies he is using and what might serve him better and steer him forward, incrementally, from there. There is absolutely no shaming, just gentle probing and encouragement. Carla has been fabulous and I feel Mathnasium is very vested in helping him find better pathways forward in math. Well worth the investment.

After one year attending the center, my child who had learning gaps from medical absences has caught up and is now excelling. My gifted child has had the chance to explore his untapped potential. My granddaughter was in the third grade and was struggling with her grades, especially in math. We enrolled her at Mathnasium the last three years. In those three years we have seen her confidence grow by leaps and bounds. Through the first three grading periods this year in the sixth grade she has received all A's and one B. She goes two or three times a week and she loves it. It has taught her that if she works at something she can accomplish it. Our daughter has been attending Mathnasium of Warrenton for more than two years for math enrichment, since kindergarten. The instructors continue to keep the material fresh, intriguing and challenging. She looks forward to attending, most weeks attending four out of the five days instruction is offered. The staff strikes a fantastic balance of prompting her to work independently while still supporting her educational needs. We can’t recommend Mathnasium of Warrenton more highly.

Our daughter was falling behind in math at school last year. She dreaded going to her math class and had test anxiety when taking math tests. We enrolled her in mathnasium’s summer program and this year she is back on track and actually enjoys math. We are particularly pleased with her improvement in algebra and word problems. She attends 2-3 times per week which seems to be the right schedule to keep her math skills moving along. The Warrenton staff is top notch! I’m very happy we made this choice.
