Our Team

Our specially trained math instructors will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting; our unique approach enables us to explain concepts really well and lend a helping hand to every student. Our tutors foster a caring, encouraging environment that helps kids thrive and learn! Read below to learn more about our talented team:

Andrew Kelly, Owner

After spending several years as an information technology consultant in corporate America, Andrew now focuses his time and energy on helping students excel in math, owning two Mathnasiums (Countryside and Westchase). Andrew has a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Maine, a B.A. in Meteorology from Texas A&M, and an MBA from Rollins College. He served as a weather officer in Air Force special operations and is a decorated Desert Storm veteran. He also served in the U.S. Peace Corps as an economics teacher in Kazakhstan, where he learned to speak fluent Russian. He lives in Dunedin with his wife Terrie and their golden retriever Archie (who makes an occasional appearance at our Mathnasiums).


CenterDirectorAmyLee Pritchard, Center Director 

We are excited to have AmyLee at the helm of Mathnasium of Westchase.  Previously AmyLee was an elementary teacher in Orange, Polk and Pasco Counties.  AmyLee holds a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, a Masters Degree in Transformational Teaching and Learning, and is currently working toward a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. In her spare time AmyLee enjoys the world of online gaming, biking and spending time with her sister and her cat Thumper.  Interesting fact about AmyLee - she started college when she was just 14 years old and had her Bachelors Degree by age 19!

 

Nick Savage, Lead Instructor

Nick is pursuing a degree in Economics at the University of South Florida. In his free time, he likes to read and hike with his dog. Nick always has a smile on his face and hope to spread his positivity to our students.

 

 

Daniel Jones, Instructor

Daniel is a college student pursuing a management information systems degree at the University of South Florida. Daniel loves learning new things and helping others expand their own knowledge. He has greatly enjoyed math, science, and reading, but his favorite subject is history. Daniel loves learning so much that he has begun studying in an attempt to be on Jeopardy. When Daniel isn't learning random facts, he's out on the ice playing hockey or at home doing off-ice training.

 

 

Abby Bullian, Instructor

Abby is a high school junior hoping to major in elementary education in university. Her passion for helping kids has driven her not only toward that degree but to start a career path in math education during high school! When Abby isn't busy either studying or teaching, she plays multiple musical instruments, practicing both the piano and the ukelele.

 

 

Abigail Kruep, Instructor

Abigail is a high school junior who really enjoys math. "I'm currently taking AP Calculus and am a quick learner!" She was in competetive gymnastics for many years and currently enjoys crossfit. She loves math and loves working with kids. 

 

 

 

 

Andy Gomez, Instructor

Andy is a sophmore at the University of South Florida where he is studying mathematics and hopes to become a teacher in the future. He is originally from Fort Lauderdale. "I find joy in seeing young minds develop these difficult skills!" His favorite math joke is: We know 6 was afraid of 7 because 7 8 9, but why didn't 4 stick up for them? Because he was 2 squared! 

 

Shota Konno, @Home Instructor

Shota is a freshman at the University of Florida majoring in Environmental Engineering. He recently graduated from the IB program at Robinson High School and has lived in Westchase since 2008. Outside of school, Shota performs on the violin and piano, plays lacrosse, and was the vice president of the Mu Alpha Theta (competitive mathematics) team at Robinson for two years. Shota has extended family in Japan that he looks forward to seeing once their borders open once again, and he speaks Japanese. Shota knows that a strong math education opens many possibilities to students, and he hopes to help open those doors while instilling his fascination with math in others.
 
 

 

Sydney Mazur, @Home Instructor

Sydney is a Junior at the University of Central Florida where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. She began working at Mathnasium in 2018 and has moved up to center management responsibilities. During the school year she lives in Orlando and enjoys instructing from home! Sydney loves teaching math and helping it make sense to others! She finds it rewarding when a student is proud of themself that they understand a challenging topic. When Sydney is not tutoring or studying herself, you’re likely to find her spending time with friends and family! 

 

 

Jessica Newman, @Home Instructor

Jessica is a senior at the University of South Florida, majoring in Statistics and Psychology.  She has a passion for working with kids and a very energetic personality, which really shows in how engaged her online students are with her.  When she's not studying or working at Mathnasium, Jessica enjoys her family and friend time and having spontaneous adventures!

 

 

Samantha Rivera, @Home Instructor

Sam is a second year student at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, pursuing her dreams of becoming a dentist.  Sam has been with Mathnasium of Countryside since 2017 as an instructor.  Aside from her busy school/work schedule, Sam finds time to dog-sit and be actively involved in the American Dental Student Association (ASDA) as Vice President for Tufts Chapter.  Sam is always eager to learn and has a life-long passion and dedication for helping others.  During her free time Sam enjoys thrifting, traveling and watching the sunsets.

 

 

Camilo Fonseca, @Home Instructor

Camilo is a junior journalism student at Emerson College in Boston, pursuing minors in philosophy and political science.  Aside from math, Camilo is very passionate about the humanities and current affairs, and he is the editor of his college newspaper, the Berkeley Beacon.  Camilo is an Eagle Scout and when he's not instructing Mathnasium kids you can find him camping, hiking and spending time in the Great Outdoors!
