CenterDirectorJudi Ifarinde, Center Director

Hello! My name is Judi Ifarinde. I am the Center Director at Mathnasium of Whitefish Bay. Prior to working at Mathnasium, I taught math from grades 6th-12th in the inner city of Milwaukee. I have a master’s degree in Math Education from Alverno College and bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Marquette University. I have always loved math. I enjoy instructing and teaching math to students in a way that engages and makes sense them to them. Because of our common mission, I knew Mathnasium was the place for me. When I am not at Mathnasium, I continue to teach math to future math teachers at local university, spend meaningful time with my husband and laughing with my family and friends.

CenterDirectorRohita Shah, Owner

Hello! I'm Rohita Shah the Center Director at Mathnasium of Whitefish Bay. Prior to opening this center, I enjoyed working as a project associate for the American Orthopaedic Association. I have a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from University of Illinois. With a background in Orthopaedic Research, I managed a Gait Analysis Laboratory at Rush University Medical Center for several years before deciding to stay home to raise my children. With my own children, I experienced both the frustrations of math and the rewards of overcoming the challenges through the Mathnasium method. Therefore, I'm passionate about helping every child truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. More importantly, I'm committed to bringing the Mathnasium Method to the children in the community.

Britani, Lead Instructor

Hi there, my name is Britani! I am a math instructor at the Mathnasium in Whitefish Bay. Ever since I was young, I enjoyed solving problems and working with numbers which led to me receiving my Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse.  I am currently pursing my Master’s degree in architecture at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Along with math, I have a large passion for art and design (I actually minored in art in my undergraduate studies!) What I love most about working at Mathnasium is getting to work with students and seeing the happiness that arises when they understand a concept they were previously struggling with, it brings a smile to both of our faces. I can’t wait to share the same experience with your child!

CenterDirectorDorothy, Lead Instructor

Hello!  My name is Dorothy and I have been part of the team at Mathnasium of Whitefish Bay almost from its beginning in 2015!  I love being part of this team and really feel good about helping kids grow in confidence and ability in math.   Gaining confidence in one subject like math increases their overall motivation in other areas as well!  My school training is in Computer Science where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree and worked as a systems programmer.  My bent however, has mainly been toward teaching children as is evidenced in my home educating my three children through high school, teaching kids sewing classes, and private tutoring.   Besides tutoring math, I love sewing, gardening, cooking and spending time with my family.  I love kids and look forward to meeting yours!!

Will, Instructor

Hi, my name is Will.  I’m currently a graduate student at UWM going for a Master’s degree in Mathematics.  Along with my love of math, I also enjoy all manner of sports and games. Adam, Instructor

Hello! I’m Adam an instructor at Mathnasium of Whitefish Bay. I am a student at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee working towards a degree in electrical engineering and applied physics. I have been working with students for as long as I can remember. My first students were my little brother and sister! Over the course of my scholarly career I have always enjoyed helping my classmates with challenging math concepts and strategies. I Love the Mathnasium method because it is the most intuitive and comprehensive way to learn all the skills necessary to not only do math but understand it as well. I learn something new every day at Mathnasium and I am excited to help all our students to learn something new about math every day using this tried and true method.

Nick, Instructor

Hello!  My name is Nick and I'm an instructor at Mathnasium of Whitefish Bay.  I have bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and History from St. Olaf College, as well as a Master's in Systems Engineering from Cornell University.  Currently, I am pursuing another Master's in Public History at UW-Milwaukee and I hope to eventual work in Museum operations or some other History-related profession.  Throughout my education, I've been struck by how much you can do with even a little knowledge of math, and one thing I've always loved about learning (and teaching!) it is discovering new ways of applying math in the world around us.  Having previously worked as an independent tutor since high school, I love working with kids and especially love sharing that "aha" moment when they figure something out for the first time.  I look forward to taking part in many more "aha" moments at Mathnasium.

Lydia, Instructor

Hi, my name is Lydia and I’m an instructor at Mathnasium of Whitefish Bay! Last year I graduated from Shorewood High School, and I’m now studying Environmental Engineering and Spanish at the University of Minnesota. Math was always my favorite class when I was younger, something that has continued into college. It’s because I discovered that interest in math and science that I’m now pursuing an engineering degree. Here at the Mathnasium I’m hoping our students can have the same fun with the subject that I did when I was younger! At school I’m part of the Nordic Ski Team, and I also enjoy running, rock climbing, traveling, and chocolate.

I began my first semester at the University of San Francisco in fall 2018 as a nursing major, and am fueled by a passion for learning, spending time outdoors, and creating great memories with family and friends. My favorite ways to spend free time include yoga, running, reading, hiking, as well as exploring new places and meeting new people through travel. Through tutoring siblings and children for many years, I developed an enthusiasm for math and for connecting with kids from all different backgrounds and abilities. I love discovering how each child uses a unique approach to education. I can’t wait to meet more students and help them develop their skills and interest in math!
