The goal is to achive vision zero - the elimanation of traffic deaths and serious injuries on New York City's streets.
Join TransAlt's NYC Century Tour! This yearly 100-mile city ride promotes bicycling, walking and public transit as safer and healthier transportation alternatives. Volunteers will help set up and run the rest stop and cheer on the riders.

WHAT PARTICIPATING IN CARES DAY MEANS
On New York Cares Day Spring, over 4,000 fellow New Yorkers will be volunteering at 40 public spaces across the five boroughs. Our participation will have an immense impact on all of NYC:
PARKS RELY ON VOLUNTEERS
On New York Cares Day, volunteers deliver more than a half a million dollars' worth of labor and supplies to parks. In addition, they will help with restoration and clean-up projects that many of the sites have been waiting years to accomplish, but didn't have the resources.
COMMUNITY GARDENS ARE A SOURCE OF FOOD
A large number of New York City communities are food deserts, meaning that there isn't sufficient access to diverse and healthy food options.
Through the power of volunteers, we are able to engage kids, their parents, community members, neighborhood organizations, and more - all the elements required to move the needle forward on New York City's most pressing issues.
