Dmitriy

I am the Owner and Center Director at Mathnasium of Wilton.  Each day, I make it my goal to ensure that students have an effective, engaging, and encouraging learning experience that cultivates an intuitive understanding of math. I do this by selecting highly trained instructors who are passionate about math, maintaining the best environment for learning, and always staying positive. We offer the tools to help young learners improve critical math skills and understanding, regardless of their current ability level. We look forward to working with you and helping to build a successful future for your child.

 

 Alec

I am a lead instructor here at Mathnasium in Norwalk.
I grew up in Westchester County across the border in New York, where developed fondness for math. I have completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Mathematics and Master’s in
Mathematics at New York University. During that time there I was an active member of the
NYU Quiz Bowl team and, of course, helped fellow students when they were struggling with
their math homework.
I am a part of a great team here at Mathnasium. Dmitriy (the owner/center director) has
an infectious joy and enthusiasm towards the children, making everyone feel welcome. Every one of the instructors is knowledgeable and has a great personality.  Mathnasium has a great learning environment which helps every one of the students succeed, and I love to contribute as much as I can to that environment.
 

Gerry

I began working at Mathnasium in 2016, soon after I retired from my career as an actuary with Transamerica. I was looking for an opportunity to utilize my math background to help kids improve their math skills and succeed in school.  Mathnasium has proven to be a wonderful means of accomplishing my goals and, more importantly, the goals of the students and their parents.  The Mathnasium method has a proven track record of presenting math concepts in a way that makes sense. Students who come to Mathnasium unsure of their math abilities gain confidence as they learn to apply the Mathnasium techniques and see  their progress reflected in improved test results and reduced frustration. 

Besides the excellent instruction, another reason that the Mathnasium model works so well is that the kids enjoy their time at the center.  Many of them come in 3 or 4 days a week, some even more than that, and the hour they typically spend there includes social interaction with their fellow students and one-on-one support from friendly and engaged instructors.

Tom

I began teaching math at the middle school level in the Bronx, New York, after graduating from Lehman College with a mathematics major and education minor.  During this time, I earned my Master of Education Administration from New York University. I was promoted to Dean of Students and, then, Math Department Supervisor and Assistant Principal.  

I joined Mathnasium of Wilton in July of 2019.  I chose this opportunity because I felt that the tutoring approach and philosophy of Mathnasium are the styles I feel are the most effective for helping students progress in mathematics.  These include the diagnostic testing at entry, the ongoing evaluation, and and the reward system. These all present a solid and practical approach to tutoring. I immensely enjoy being at Mathnasium and being able to enhance our students’ abilities and skills in a positive and enjoyable manner.

I have been an instructor at Mathnasium since September 2017. I am a graduate student at Sacred Heart University pursuing a Master’s degree in education and teacher certification and currently hold a Bachelor’s degree in math from the University of Connecticut.

I love helping kids reach their full potential in math. I come to Mathnasium each day with an open mind and an excitement to teach and enjoy every aspect of the Mathnasium Method because it helps students build confidence and fill in their gaps. My goal is to make every Mathnasium session a positive, productive experience for each student.
